As you might know, during the Black Friday season, it has become a 'tradition' for some to release great discounts and, for others, to deliver illegal products.

Many of you know what happened with Nebula. A pirated version was in circulation and, as a result of the security systems we have in place, many users had their accounts blocked. This directly affected their work and deadlines and, as a result, required further efforts from us to rectify the situation.

We have to be as transparent as possible with you, our customers, our community.



Please be aware, in the event of a 'pirated' product installation, your account will be automatically disabled.
This is a reversible operation, and it involves a priority intervention on our part. To unlock your account, you have to remove all files of the illegal version, then contact us, and we will restore your login. To do this, we need to invest several resources and staff, diverting them from their everyday work and objectives; that usually ensures you the best experience, the best products, and the best timing.

Now, please remember Black Friday is one of the most intense periods for us.

In case of such events, the unlocking of accounts may be very slow because we do not have enough resources (people and time) to cope with recovery requests. Therefore, we do not guarantee that we will be able to solve any problems quickly; it will not be a priority for us.
Secondly, downloading an illegal product does not provide, over time, all the benefits we guarantee to our customers, including our free updates/upgrades. As you know well, these are essential to keep up with the pace of the big companies; Apple is modifying its products every year, and you know they love to shuffle requirements and change things every five minutes. Microsoft seems intent on going this way too.
Lastly, we are investing a lot of energy to convert all of our products in this last period, switching them to our new, optimized engine. This means illegal products will not perform as well as legal ones, if at all.

This feels the same way as watching one of those terrible apology videos on Youtube. I get them but man that's not a very smart way of communicating with their customers at all.

 

Cracking acustica would probably mean a loss of 10-20% revenue for him so he is naturally worried.
He can counter it with two things.
First start the BF sale asap and second offer even lower prices and discounts throughout the year.

 

He never chose a smart way of communication. I personally cant stand that Dude. 2 years ago he accused a member in here of fraud because he had an error in his own Shop System, which resulted in receiving full licenses for all acustica plugins if you chose some of them. That member made a thread about that instead of just being happy for himself, making giancarlo aware of the Situation.
I just see giancarlo round here raging and throwing threats at potential customers. When i told him that it was his own Shop, that he is responsible for it and his staff for coding it right, he was like he is not used to people telling him what to do, he is the Boss of his own Company bla bla.

This message of him Shows it once more... He rather punishes his legit customers, no matter if they rely on the plugins they bought from him for their legit money... what can i say... anytime he appears round here, he is extremely unfriendly.
Even if I thought his products were worth it, i'd never ever buy anything from him just because I dont want to Support a Person and its Company for such a behaviour. No matter how good his products may be. Thats not how you treat your customers. I think thats a lesson he has to learn the hard way.
I dont care about his plugins but i'm looking forward to seeing them cracked just for the pure satisfaction.

 

I had no idea, thanks for bringing this up. I can't believe I'm going to use that word but this whole drama is just cringe af. Piracy exists, period, one man will not end piracy, a squad will not end piracy, no one. What happens next, they way to deal with it is entirely in the developer/publisher hands. If I was a customer I'd be embarrassed (like I kinda am just by reading this statement even though I don't use any plugins from this company).

 

TLDR
We are most afraid of our products getting cracked during Black Friday period, so please don't use them if they're released because we will ban your account if you have legit licenses as well because we want to create work for you and us. We promise to make our next versions faster (and more secure) so don't use (slower) cracked ones ok? Now buy more of our products for our success kthxbye

 

This italian guy, Giancarlo Del Sordo, is a really bad CEO, extremely rude and disrespectful, particularly dangerous in his private policies. However he watches us here, and constantly monitors the sister site, waiting for the moment that R2R gives him his gifts.

 

He does benefit from the Internet / World Wide Web. How many customers would he have without the internet? Where did he advertise beforehand and at what cost. Anyone who does something and manufactures knows that he can be hacked or that copies of his work appear on the Internet.

I'm 100% with you. You know piracy exists before you Start a plugin Company. You are responsible for your own Shop and your own protection. If your protection is not strong enough, it is your fault as owner of the Company. Deal with it or leave the game.
People who want to Support your Company with their money will do so. People who dont want to wont spend their money Anyways. They act like they lose money. And then he Comes up with an example of buying cars.. c'mon. If you build a car, you have to put thousands of $ material in every unit you sell. I plugin is just Software, once it is developed, you can sell 50 or 500000 copies, it doesnt increase your costs and you lose nothing from someone who uses it for free but thats another topic. I just wanted to point out that you are absolutely right. He is a drama queen.

I just want to recall that many users are forced to use "alternative" versions of DAWs and Plugins, once they just can't afford and can't limit their creativity due an economic condition. Music is about love, and love is about caring for the others, not just dollar signs. I'm aware that a lot of people can afford and just collect those pirated versions of plugins for "fun", but that is not the whole story.
