Remember that most American products are made in China and other Russian trading partners, all that's missing is the label. That's as a last resort. Russia is different from China. Russia's economy is based on exporting oil and military equipment (largely to governments not independent companies) but China is powerful in other fields of technology. Not to forget to motion that China is dependent on the west for making and developing their goods from a simple nail to mega-structures. If one day, the west decides to impose international tough sanctions against China, they will get factory-reset in less than a decade.

There's a lot about the USA to dislike, that's for sure. But I know which of the two countries I'd rather live in though.

I just don't like Opera. Or Brave. Creature of habit, I suppose. But there are other extensions I rely on -- like Bypass Paywalls.

So I use the Hoxx free extension in Firefox for most places. I use it in Chrome for those places where I need translation, or where the anti-adblocker fails in Firefox. (For some reason, the anti-adblocker extensions in Chrome seem to be much more up-to-date and more effective than the same extensions in Firefox.)

 

As a resident of the (so-called) first world, I know to report that the .ru website works in Switzerland and Germany. However, before that comes a redirect from Cloudflare. This is the first time I have consciously noticed it. Are perhaps really only DDoS attacks. (Although the servers are not in Russia at all.)

I get that whole creature of habit thing and I suppose I am the same. There is an advantage though to having a second browser for just those things that Firefox doesn't like, and that is if ever Firefox breaks, I don't have to rely on getting it fixed immediately if Opera is still working.
