Delete the firewall entrys and use the host-file-method as discribed above!

you need to b edit hosts on pc and on mobile app.
same method, you need to have rooted phone

 

Where do i find the host file on my pc?

 

I did all that and when i try to connect with my ipad it says Studio one is not activated on your computer.

Search for Hostfile on both windows and mac os

 

First you have to open your explorer and make sure you are able to see invisible files too.
- open the "options" in Explorer.
- change to the "(I dont know its name on an english Windows but it should be something like "view") tab.
- scroll down to "hidden files and folders" and activate "show hidden files and folders".
- also make sure you deactivate the option "Hide extensions for known file types"

Now open your "notepad.exe" with Admin-rights and navigate to:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\
and there you'll find it.

Now edit it with your "notepad" and save it.
ATTENTION! Notepad will give it the file extension "host.txt".
To make it work you have to go to its location:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\
and simply delete the file extension...so finally the name is "host" (without any extension)

 

I did all that and and SO4 is not anymore deactivating, but when i try to connect with my ipad it says Studio one is not activated on your computer. So here we are again, i can't still use the remote.

The remote app works differently. It's your iPad talking with presonus.com, you have to block from your router settings.

You need to somehow block the connection between your iPad and presonus.com. Most likely by going to the setup page of your router. Can't help much since every router is different. Check your manuals and add the same addresses as you did for SO4.

 

Yes! This actually works! Thank you Johan! It is quite a relief, since the Studio One 4.1.0 had some disturbing bugs...Thank you everybody!

 

Just to let everyone know how to solve this problem in windows,you need to go into your firewall rules you created to block studio 1 & then manually copy & paste your filepath to replace the filepath that gets entered when you browse & select studioone3.exe,what happens is that the filepath gets entered wrong when you browse for it using the browse box,so you need to manually correct it so the outbound/inbound rule knows what to block correctly. You will all find that this fixes all your problems for good. So in conclusion you need to enter something along lines of C drive/pc/program files/studioone3.exe(I can't remember exactly what file path & it will be the path to where the exe is located,& this will stop studio one from accessing internet altogether.

 

i blocked Studio one exe in my firewall, i blocked scanner app, and i added to Hostfile and i still cant get soundsets authorized. Am i missing something somewhere?

 

I'm sorry for reanimating a dead thread but this just started to happen to me with studio One 6.5.2 r2r... Firewall rule, hosts file, etc nothing works...

Whatever you think you need a internet connection for on a audio production machine can be easily remedied by using the scene release versions of any net dependent apps. Vienna Ensemble pro has a version 6.x scene release (albeit a bit dated it's only one version back) that can be used in place of your current one that wouldn't require net connections.

 

Add the lines below to your HOSTS file under C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and the issue will be fixed.
To edit your hosts file, right click, select open with, then select notepad

127.0.0.1 api.presonus.com
127.0.0.1 api.presonus.com.cdn.cloudflare.com

This fix is confirmed working and posted from another thread
(just saw that BenniTheBlockbuster posted the correct fix above as that is where my post was taken from)
