I don't use the stock compressor but the external sidechain bug not being fixed sucks. This is exactly what I meant when I said that things like this should be tended to before other features are introduced. Otherwise, they're just building more house onto a foundation that's not completely solid. Don't get me wrong Studio One is a brilliant piece of software but this is a showstopper. Sidechaining is a very important technique and for no priority to be placed on getting it properly working is upsetting.

 

There wast any option at all under windows.

oh yeah, it wasn't before, so that's cool. i wish they should have include the options (media, window, help, etc) above, but like in a reduce way or something. but actually it looks good

 

Me too, I just wanted to point out how they disabled the listen feature on the stock compressor to hide that bug. I also miss multiple inputs sidechain on plug-ins like Toneboosters EQ4. I have to use S1 to collaborate on some projects, but Reaper is my DAW.

 

To enable listen feature on stock compressor you should press "Filter" button right above "Listen" button. Anyway, broken delay compensation on side chain inputs sucks ! Latest working version is 5.0.2

 

Thanks for the clarification, by reading the manual it's not clear that the filter button needs to be enabled together with the listen one.

 

Thanks a lot, that's really kind of you but it was reported already by @waverider. He also posted the videos on this thread that indicate the issue, if you want to check them out. That's why it's annoying that it wasn't fixed for this release but new features of much lower priority have been added.

Damn, that's nice update as for x.1
I looked into this new keyswitch feature and this beats Logic and Cubase all the way.
Audio events versions is a handy addition as well.

Hello! Gregor just post some snake oil "fix" for sidechain problem!

here is what happened if you try add more busses

It will work if you have only one sub-mix Bus in your project which is clearly not the case in any professional mixing session. For example, you have all your Bass tracks routed to a separate Bus, a couple of synths routed to another Bus etc. And all your tracks have separate side-chain compressors. Now put some latency inducing plugins on that Busses - your side-chains will be messed up. Now aply this new Gregor's trick - route GHOST side-chain trigger to a new Bus and then route that Bus to one of existing Busses with instruments. This will fix sidechain timings for all tracks routed to the same Bus while all other tracks routed to another Busses will still have messed up sidechains! Just tested in Studio One 5.2
HOWEVER - messing with it a little bit further triggers “something” under the hood and delay compensation on sidechains starts to work on other tracks too! Completely unpredictable...
So dear Presonus - rather then give us a half baked "workarounds" please fix this terrible issue asap. Thanks!

P.S. Gregor don't delete comments with link to proof that your "fix" is for one buss only

This is indeed some bs "solution". Side chain is either working or not. It seems they f*cked up somewhere in the middle and don't want to waste time returning to that point to fix it.
Damn, this is the first time I have a bad taste from PreSonus... This is really a joke.

These are good news. I was afraid they just gave up on side chain thing, considering that they were publishing workarounds instead of saying something like "we know and are working on that".
