So, I'm just looking for suggestions on what some good website builders, host and so on are currently. I'm looking for something cheap, simple to use, and to probably have limited functionality. It'd probably serve more as a landing page for info, and maybe link off to other sites, like Soundcloud, Facebook and so on. However, I may look to add in some features, like music players etc if possible.

Anybody got any suggestions, advice and/or recommendations for someone with limited/no knowledge of web design and so on?

Used it in my training. But i would prefer WordPress and than customize the code.

The only Thing which is Important to know is CSS as this makes things much easier.

Just Get a Linktree landing page and link it to your Streaming, youtube, socials (insta, tictoc), and merch. Unless you have an audience following you for gigs and you are collecting email addresses, a website is pretty useless nowadays. A simple and elegant solution as most engagement is on mobile devices. People are more engaged with short content feeding to your band brand. Web URL's are ok for Blogs that you can run from any blogging platform (like WordPress) from your linktree. Websites are not the best for engagement, Linktree is good for a central location for a muli platform approach.

 

If you have already analyzed your needs and you are sure that you need a website, GoDaddy + wysiwyg web builder is a good combination.

Be careful with some free website hosting and online builders that will not allow enough control, some of them, including keywords , your indexation will be inexistent.

I used dreamhost for a long time and they were very good. but not exactly cheap either. see what their current rates are and compare. but they are good service wise.

Otherwise you can use a free website builder like wix, squarespace, weebly, ...
There are many options to choose from, just pick anyone you like. Most time no frontend knowledge like html, css or javascript is required, but optional.

Make sure about advantages and disadvantages. If simple and sleek design is most important to you, I would go with squarespace.
But according to your description any of them will serve your needs totally well.

 

I saw this thread title at the bottom of another thread and wanted to comment on one thing, GoDaddy is not a good host. They say theyre global, but they arent. I found out the hard way while on tour that with shared account hosting theyre blocked in several countries (maybe many?) apparently due to porn and political sites hosted on their servers. Changing my host was a PITA, time consuming and costly.. just something to be aware of ;)
