Hi Guys,
tested the latest release of Eventide's R2R, and it has 8 plugins not working, but above all the worst thing is that it particularly breaks other plugins including Waves, Fabfilter and Pro Tools itself causing it to crash repeatedly. I have never seen Pro Tools repeatedly stuck on scan, completely blocked.
Be careful if you are a Pro Tools user.

Confirmed here also with Pro tools 2021.7, aax patched.

 

I thought it was just me. Yes absolutely, it completely freeze Pro Tools on scan, making it work (blocked) indefinitely. Such a disaster. Uninstalled and everything was back to work perfectly.

 

For me only the new SplitEq is broken on PT 12.5. All others works as usual.
The VTS3 version is bad too, tested on Reaper 6.40. The EQ still works but there is some kind of perpetual processing. The mouse pointer does not stop turnning at all. VTS is fine.
They will fix it soon for sure!

I did read all you wrote and tested here for you, Mr.Lyann.
Korneff stuffs are working here. The three plug I got are working fine in PT12.5. Pawn Shop Comp, Amplified Instrument Processor and Talkback Limiter.
Only the SplitEQ from the new Eventide pack has that behavior on the mouse arrow or background processing for me. Also that R2R PT had. I found the solution for the PT but I can't remember what it was now...But that PT release lacked many important tools, so I came back to 12.5 AU.
So I think you got a specific issue on the Korneff stuff. Don't know what is since you made fresh installation for all.
Sometimes we just need to take the installation folder ownership to get plugins working in PT. I always do that for PSP and Softube for instance. I won't to this for the Eventide pack because it cleary seems to be a patch issue. Let's wait for a fix.
Take the ownership for the Korneff plugs in you system...maybe it works for you.

The problem has to do with Mod AAX on Pro Tools, because for example VST2s work like a charm. However, I have never seen Pro Tools crashing in this way, basically blocking the program before the dashboard.

 

I am running PT12.5 as well with no crashing. Just the SplitEQ aax is bad here. All others works in PT.
SplitEQ VST3 has issues too in Reaper as I said before. I still can use it but it is not perfect.
SplitEQ VST is fine in Reaper.
So for me just the new SplitEQ has issues in this package.
This seems to be a patch issue. They always fix bad patching like this. Let's wait.

I have similar Issue with the SplitEQ VST3 it has crackling sounds when using it however I deleted all the vst3s and installed the vst2 versions and they work without issue (Reaper)

 

Yes, I understand you. In my system the VST2s work very well (tested on Ableton 11), however Pro Tools just crashes, the dashboard does not even start. Instead I have not tested the VST3s.

 

I can't even install this release on Win7/64.
Deleted previous versions, all folders/files have full permissions and aren't "reed only".
Returns the following:
An error occurred while trying to replace the existing file:
Delete file failed, code 5,
Access is dined
If I click "ignore" it stumbles on next file with the same popup window for each folder it has to create for each plugin and its pdf guide file.

Previous R2R release 2.0.14 installs w/o problem.
Any ideas how to install this on Win7/64?

 

Maybe this setup is no longer an Win7 compatible with. You need to check this on devs site. Anyways you can try to intall it under compatibilty mode. Give it a try!

This problem with AAX is strange. It's the first time for R2R in many years to happen with Eventide, probably with all the amazing work they are going through, they haven't had time to test them on PT.

 

Well...it is weird. I am on Win10, anyways. I keep loading all my sessions as usual with all Eventide plugs installed/running. I just removed the SplitEQ.axx from plugin folder because PT was saying it is not a valid aax file.

 

Few weeks ago they fixed another aax bad cracked as well...just don't remember the plug brand name...sometimes it happens and it is ok. They always fix.
That big wave early this year had some too. All fixed very soon.

 

Ok. Just been posted on syster site the fix, guys! I told you....
R2R is an amazing team!

A fixed version has just been posted on the sister site:

Everything is working like a charm on PT 12.5 HD AU now, wonderful release R2R!! If that's the same for you guys I can close this thread

 

It's the same for me, just works great on PT.
