Well, what can I say... your entire thread seems a mix of sarcasm, nonsense and over-optimism to say it lightly. It's impossible to tell at this point what do you want.

There is no video tutorial for it, just documentation. I hate reading. I will try "The Audio Programmer" but after watching some of the first tutorial, I stopped because I thought he is just referring to the documentation and not explaining what's underneath the iceberg !

Cubase Power!: Complete Coverage of Cubase Vst, Cubase Vst Score and Cubase Vst32
Creative Projects with Cubase VST (Miscellaneous)

    May help.

C++ is a good language, it isn't that difficult to learn once you get used to the syntax and how classes work. With each SDK, there are usually plenty of workable examples that you can learn from (or even hacked to change their behaviour).

Answers to most questions about programming can be found on stack overflow, that is a great resource for learning.

i know one thing after reading all you write dude... you don't know what you want and your abilities from everything i read here are not up to the job... i would start with trying to make something simple with Reaktor. , if you managed to make anything decent there... you can go on.

yes i know, but i rather spent that time i had free last march with category theory - its easier drifting away for me with that!

but it is true, stackexchange and overflow has so many answers in terms of programming, doesnt matter which language. it is easier than before to get started with programming when you want.

i coded about a library collection of plug-ins myself along with analog emulations , eq , verbs , delays , Saturation.
few members here had gotten a free copy of my Universal Solo 110 Preamp Emulations and we're quiet pleased with it...

if seriously interested about writing your own plugin , PM me i could offer some services depending on what you inquired.

    1. I'd not recommend you Steinberg SDK as a starting point. Poor, bad documentation (developers moans all the time), no tutorials etc.

    2. Learn C++. I've read about SOUL, it's a special language for DSP only. The rest (GUI, for example) MUST be written in any other language. Nobody will create a language for creatind VST plugins. Never.

As an observer now, this begins to become seriously entertaining. Perhaps I'll make a Mazelman's "Greatest Hits" compilation when this is done. Stay tuned folks
