Just a humble reminder that you are on an Audio/Music website/forum.

And as far as I'm aware, there is no requirement that we dumb down our commentary to help make others feel better about their own.

If you feel you're not cut out for something, then yes, don't engage. Simple.

"We ask all members to use common sense when commenting. e.g.... personal insults..." ~ Forum Rules
    ____

Granted, it's a 'question', but it's also an insinuation. In any case, it's bad form, along with the rest of your comment.
Normally, I wouldn't mind anyway, but since this forum is explicit about this, I thought to mention it.

Music is generally a creative endeavor and, as such, its forums will attract those with a creative sensibility. At the same time, no two people will make the same music, nor write the same way about the same topic. Expecting otherwise is absurd.

    ~ Self-Ownership, Smokescreens & Emulations ~
BTW, if one takes a good or straight look at the world around them, then they'll likely feel that they have more than all the 'LSD' or whatever psychotropics they can handle. They don't need the 'real' thing. (You may notice that we fed 'real' back on itself.)

It also includes noticing, say, someone painting over, like a smokescreen, their anger/etc. with emojis that are antithetical to how they actually feel.

Or, as mentioned of course, painting over their significant ages with facelifts.

They are 'strategies', naturally, but not the only ones. (And some can be remarkably transparent, depending on who or what is looking.)

Incidentally, some or all the this site's emojis look bad on my Firefox browser using the Dark Mode plugin. They have white fringes, presumably to better blend into the lighter background better.

Last post on that here: I don’t understand why you’re offended, as that wasn’t my intention. I may be misunderstanding something, but I sometimes find it hard to follow the logic in your posts. I’m often unsure what point you’re trying to make in these longer, very abstract discussions. When I trying to clarify, your replies can feel even more abstract. which can seem like a waste of time Are you possibly using Google Translate? and you should know emojis are often used not sound harsh they mean joking

I gave you, for one, a concrete definition of emulation, so I'm unsure who, exactly, was being abstract.

Bear in mind that you walked down that path with me-- with your own abstractions-- but seemed to bolt like that squid at the first sign that things weren't going your way.
Exactly. That's why I wrote 'transparent' above.

I don't really care about the stupid emojis, except to suggest that if you're angry, own it. Own your anger... (Well of course you don't have to, but...)

We both should know that people post happy emojis when they feel nothing of the sort. Or smile in real life when they don't feel like it at all. Sometimes it works, if not for everyone or all the time.
That's part of the authenticity I was also talking about, so I leveraged the emojis as another metaphor or example. It's not that abstract from my perch. Not saying I know how you feel/felt, but just in case.

But you/we can fake it, such as with paint, retro-style plugins or facelifts. Your/Our call. Just that others will see through it, or at least see it differently and maybe call it out. They'll see through the ink-jets or the moths on the bark.

It's like that album, Let's Pretend. Here's a song from it, what the hell. I might have previously posted it in the 'What Are You Listening To?' thread:

    @Sackbut

Jeez, how you enjoy getting into sophistic wordplay… :facepalm:this thread is only for the Akai S900 VST and its emulations. If you want to discuss the semantics and all of esoteric meanings of the word “emulation” and dissect into out of context pieces, start a separate thread.

yeah, well, the timestretching and sum to mono is as far as I would go with "additional" features. Making it more like a S950 is really putting the user on the high ground. No further additional fx and gimmicky bulshit that deviates from the original concept.
