    Dawesome's Kontrast?

Why have a static wavetable or static image underneath, even if the different-shapes 'playhead' is moving around when the actual wavetables/images, themselves, can move/mutate/evolve?
    Lumen Video Synthesizer:

Video synthesizers have been around for a long time.
How about a 3D Morphing-Terrain synth, sort of like moving waves on an ocean (that can be controlled/modded/'splashed'), say, leveraging a video synthesizer, realtime 3D displacement-mapping, realtime AI gaming/morphing and/or biological mutation simulation algos to create/extract/run/mod the realtime waveforms, waveform contours and/or evolutions/morphs?

WRT the latter mention, some of you might think of Synplant 2, and while that's a good synth, I'm also thinking of something more realtime, where, as the waveform plays, it evolves by mutating as it runs and/or mating with other (also-mutating) waveforms thrown in. 'Audiosex'. ;)

As a very loosely-related aside to my previous comment, some years ago, I thought this was kind of cool-- sort of a clean wireless modular-- but it became abandonware:

(Elektronick Musick doesn't always seem to do the synths they demo justice, but anyway...)

But as inspiration, I liked the idea of different waveforms being easily/realtime intermorphable like in some synths, but (also) using genetic (controllable/moddable) algos where mutation-rates and sexual-selection for examples could be controlled/filtered/edited/etc. on the fly. Of course, Synplant has this DNA-strand edit section, but it doesn't appear realtime or based on true mutations/sexual-selections.

I am quite intrigued by devices like Oxi One and others that deliver a more hands-on approach to generative sequencing. Given its touch approach I am absolutely sure that this could easily be replicated by a screen oriented vst device. But from my understanding - that is not the case.

Such a "sound toy" would be nice.

The fellow wants to replace politicians with AI (as per his video)...and his synth sounds like a shit snare.

His synthetic sound to me sucks and hurts my ears...and Sumo and Zebra 3 took billions of years to come around.

If we're going to have 'AI slop', how about turning it into waveforms/sound?

So did we, so good point.
The Lambda-CDM model (Big Bang model), however, has been increasingly called into question apparently, so who really knows how long things took. But it's not like we were waiting around for us to happen, unlike some people for Z3 or Sumu.

In any case, if we can already get mathematical funtions for waves and wave interferences, along with their impulse responses of the surrounds and so on as things reverberate about, and virtual rain and wind controls/parameters and so forth, we may yet have different sorts of synths and produce sounds that leverage the environments, themselves, as the instruments and sound sources, rather than the other way around.

So-called 'terrain synthesis' appears to be formatively 'playing a virtual environment as an instrument/sound-source', so it's a start.

But as I've been trying to illustrate, we already have mathematical representations of environments-- and have had them for quite some time even without recent AI-- that could be analyzed and reinterpreted by a synthesizer system.

We even have automated depth-maps (spacial information) that could also be part of the re-analyses and reinterpretations. With only one video, AI should be able to extrapolate its stereoscopic image as if it was filmed with 2 cameras.

In a partial nutshell, perhaps, there is much in the way of off-the-shelf-parts.

This is done with a camera but AI has done it as well, I just have that link on another computer:

(Yes, we can do some of these things with most any synth, using noise-bursts, etc., and filters and/or delays, but these types seem to take the concept further and specialize in it.)
