I wanted to give one of my favorite plugins a makeover, and i'd also like to make it a bit bigger.. Does anyone have any idea if it's possible to make these fonts bigger? 3586.PNG

Very old UI, the various font zones are probably limited to a fixed font size, so even if you find the font name and assign the name to another bigger font it would become unreadable.
They choose a "compressed" font to fit all values in the box.
Honestly I doubt you can make them bigger and still readable.

You have to live with it. You can change the skin but the font will stay the same.
You can of course increase the Windows resolution yourself, but then everything will be displayed larger.

    System Settings - General

Main GUI Scaling (Restart FL Studio to apply) - Normally leave this set to System and all other related controls set to Main, so they follow system scaling too. If you have set your Windows 'System scaling' to work correctly on your monitor, say 200%, then FL Studio will be scaled correctly to 200% also.

To adjust Windows system scaling open the Windows Control Panel, click on Display > Custom Sizing Options. From there adjust GUI zoom percentage selector. You can also click 'Custom resizing options' and type a value in percent. However, because we know you like to fiddle with things, you can manually rescale the FL Studio interface and plugins with the options provided below.

At resolutions between 3840x2160 (UHD 4K) and 5120x2880 (5K) zoom settings between 125% and 200% should work. Optimum scaling factors are a matter of screen resolution, monitor size and your eyesight.

You might have some luck with https://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/ if the plugin is using the generic Windows way of embedding resources. If it's doing its own thing, it'll be much more difficult.

Yes, I know that too, but you can't enlarge a GUI, unless you can operate these following programs.
Most VST's are largely bitmap-driven and co-ordinates and font sizes, etc are often hardcoded.
This means most can't be resized.

2.) Resources: Here are a few more pointers to help you getting started with skin design:
    • The GIMP, a free image manipulation program.
    • Pov Ray, a free 3D Ray tracer.
    • IrfanView, a free software for simple image operations.
    • Notepad 2, a free Notepad-like text editor with XML syntax highlighting.
    • XML Viewer, a free software which makes XML editing more than easy for non-programmers.

Resize a VST feature (for tiny plugins and, 4k screens users)
Note: Sugeestion that I made in a support thread. Milinor said that sugestions should be posted here.

    The problem:

Some plugins don't have a native scaling support, and unfortunately most of them probably will either never get it, or you'll be forced to buy a new version of that plugin to get it. It means that if you use a 4k screen, and you've set a Windows scaling to let's say 200%, you'll most likely need to deal with at least few very tiny plugins (when compared to the rest of the GUI) .

    What I've tried:

I've tried these two approaches to fix plugin sizes and both gave different outcomes.
    • Using FL64 (scalled).exe - resulted in normal size VSTs and lot of blurriness everywhere.
    • Changing scaling in FL64.exe - resulted with clear UI but tiny VSTs (wrapper settings don't seem to change anything)
When you use 125% scaling on a 1080p screen, 2nd solution is good enough (that is how I work right now), however with 250% scaling on a 4K screen VST would be so tiny that working with them would be far from comfortable, thus both of these approaches are bad.

    The solution:

If I understand correctly when you use FL64 (scalled).exe if your screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 and your scaling is set to 200%, FL Studio will be rendered at 920 x 320 resultion, and later scaled up to 1920 x 1080 resolution just like an image. Why not do that but for VST plugins only? This way GUI will not look blurry at all, and plugins probably won't look very blurry either since they'll be scaled up to a size indented by the plugin developer. Of course text won't be as crisp as it could be but at least you will be able to read it.

I think this scaling could be controled by two new GUI options in the VST wrapper (these setting would be shared by all instances of the given plugin after FL Studio restart):
    • Compensate for system scaling - This would pretty much solve the issue I've described. When user notices that a plugin looks too small, he could check this setting in the plugin wrapper which would result in scaling plugin so that both axes match this equation: compensated_axis_size = original_axis_size * current_main_gui_scalling.
    • Plugin scaling - Additional option that would be nice for some plugins that can look too small / too big even when scaled correctly. You could manually select a factor that would be used in this equation: final_axis_size = compensated_axis_size * factor.
I think these two options would give most flexibility. If things look fine, user won't have to do anything, but if something seems to big/small he would have a way to fix that. I suggested two complementary approaches.

@Radio But i have no problems with gui resizing or anything else.. I just need to make the font bigger, or change it to a bigger one.

its impossible if the plugin has never got a way to reskin it. Take for example Massive, before 1.7.0 we were fixed with that tiny size from 2007, people were able to skin it yes, but resizing no. Now NI implemented a scale option finally.

For Camel you cant change those grid points, where the plugin has its burned in values, where to put the font and the GUI elements, you simply cant. Its very sad for all those old plugins, that you cant increase the size of the GUI, even risking that it gets blurry, but even then we would be so happy about that.

A global solution would be nice ... blurry is an okay, if you are on 4k. Doesnt matter if you know the plugin welll enough.

@ArticStorm I understand.. Anyway, in your opinion (and i ask others too) what would be a size (pixel) that is well suited for full hd and 4k?

I just reinstalled CamelPhat and it creates this folder:

    C:\ProgramData\Camel Audio\CamelPhatData\Skins\default

Where the skin's pngs and a txt describing the skin are stored. I didn't try modifying them though.

In my previous postings I gave you two things to do: change the windows themselves or change the size of Fl Studio.
You have to adjust it step by step yourself, we're not sitting at your screen!

I should probably spend more time improving my English..
I don't need to zoom in on any software! in the last message, i meant: If i can make the camel bigger, what pixel size would be "ideal" for multiple resolutions? I was just asking for an opinion! That's it.
Please don't link me 1.000 pages on the history of resolution now! :)

However, the fonts can also be enlarged, i hadn't seen the png. The problem is that after a certain size, the words appear cut off.. And here the dream ends.. :)

This is the maximum size you will see the fonts. It will be a limit written in the program. It has nothing to do with the skin.
