    Hello

First of all, I'm really sorry to ask this again but today is the 3rd day I'm reading every single page about this for hours.

I installed this version Moria 2.8.5f on My Macbook Pro M1Max MacOS 14.7
I copied the sound source (*.db files) in my external SSD in the following address

    [SSD]/__VST/STEAM/Keyscape/Soundsources/Factory/Keyscape Library/Keyboards

Then I check every single folder permission and I'm seeing this

Then I put a shortcut of the STEAM folder in the following address

    Library>Application Support>Spectrasonics>STEAM (but the shortcut)

and I tried to change it's permission to read and write from this

    to this

Then I run the Standalone version and addressed the STEAM successfully

But it gives me the famous error

    ( STEAM doesn't have write permission )

and eventually Keyscape run after a couple of errors but with no sound library
tested this in DAW and the same result
tested this with Omnisphere and the same result

It's interesting because after one time running the shortcut permission is no longer editable and it just says read and write

I tried everything, instead of shortcut, I copied the whole thing in Library/Spectrasonics/

but the result was the same. I even tried another app called Batchmod but after one time running the permission set back to the user (Read, Write) but not admin, or everyone

    What do I do wrong?

I do not know your problem was permissions related, but it sounds like it is now. Please use Permissions Reset 2 instead of BatChmod this time. https://ohanaware.com/permissionsreset/. Leave all the options checked and reset the permissions for the folders you did anything to.

You mention using a "shortcut". What you want to use is an Alias. Go to your target folder, or files, then right click and do Make Alias. Then move the alias to the location where the plugin is looking for the target. It is just like a referrer, that forwards the plugin to look where you want. You can test any alias you make by clicking it and seeing what folder/location it opens. It should open STEAM folder, or folder inside of STEAM if you did it correctly. Just remember you need to go up one directory so you can select the folder that is your target.

You could have further issues going on, but fix those first. Run BatChmod again and go to the targets you reset previously, and open them each in BatChmod. It will show the current permissions on each file or folder. Screenshot it and exit BatChmod.

Your alias files should go in Macintosh SSD/Users/YOUR USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics. (at least they are for me). A suggestion, do them one at a time. Focus on getting Omnisphere working.

I'll try to put the STEAM folder it in the root of the SSD, I mean:

    not this: [SSD]/__VST/STEAM/Keyscape/Soundsources/Factory/Keyscape Library/Keyboards
    but this: [SSD]/STEAM/Keyscape/Soundsources/Factory/Keyscape Library/Keyboards

The best way to do it, is when you install them; let it put them where it wants by default. Then move the content to your external drive. Then go to your external drive, create the Alias there. Then put the alias where the original folder was put by default when you used the installer.

don't select any custom location in the installer.

Also, there is no Keyscape v 2.8.5f. That is an Omnisphere version number. You still need the entire Omnisphere 2.8 Core Library Steam release, which is 57 gb in size and contains this:

    Distribution content:
STEAM folder with Omnisphere 2.8 FACTORY LIBRARY
    Omnisphere Soundsources v2.6.1c
    Omnisphere Patch Library v2.8.1c

sorry I mentioned the version wrongly. the version of Keyscape I installed is V1.5.0c
    and Omnisphere is v2.8.5f

Is it possible these versions need updater or something ?
Or it's incompatible with my MacOS version ?

    Thanks everyone

I SOLVED IT thank you so much
It's wasn't even the problem of Permission, matter of fact I uninstalled everything
including app and all VST files in Library/Audio/Plugin

I first copied the original STEAM folder in my external drive in the following address

    [SSD]/__VST/STEAM/Keyscape/Soundsources/Factory/Keyscape Library/Keyboards

then I created an Alias and put in the following address

    Library>Application Support>Spectrasonics>STEAM (alias)

Then I started installing these files ones in order

    KeyScape 1.5.0c
    KeyScape SoundSource Library Update 1.5.0.c
    KeyScape Patch Library Update 1.5.0c

    and then

    KeyScape Patch Library Update 1.5.1c

during installations it asks for STEAM address, I just give shortcut address to the alias file at
    Library>Application Support>Spectrasonics>STEAM (alias)

now I just opened the Keyscape and it asked for STEAM one more time and I again addressed the alias file at
    Library>Application Support>Spectrasonics>STEAM (alias)

I accepted the file and I got one error and I restarted the program and this time
voila! No error and just for the reference I add a final shot of the application
