Audiosex searcher is broken.
It didn't give results you ask for.

For example put phrase "nexus" and it should gives this topic as one of the results but it didn't.

Type in search field refx nexus and you'll find it.

 

So it is limited only to 56 results (3 pages) and that's why didn't show it?
Is it a way to increase list of results?

 

@No Avenger : You're right, but why would that even be necessary? I'm just asking because I've had similar problems digging up other topics and just trying to understand what it is that I can do to get the result I'm looking for. I'm a little confused as to why it wouldn't find that thread when Nexus is in the title.

@Margaret just got in a reply before me that makes sense...is that the reason then (it only will return 50 results at most, so need to be more specific to ensure you get what you're looking for)?

Valid question - which I cannot answer. It's true that the search function here isn't optimal, for whatever reason, but @verwest wrote in the AudioCHAT on the main page 'no matter what I did in the search, it does not bring up this thread' and I just wanted to show that this option isn't that bad. I took me one attempt to verify that 'nexus' alone doesn't work, but already the second attempt 'refx nexus' worked.

 

I am not saying this is your problem, per se. But many searches only work in 1 direction for results.

Lets say we use a wildcard of * like windows does. The thing you are searching for can be *topic, or topic*. The wildcard allows for any matches to be found where the result is *nexus and that is anything in front of that * wildcard and then the exact phrase. Or if you use refx nexus*, it will only yield matches with that phrase and then * all possible matches after it.

 

Interesting, maybe its because here the tags gets automatically rearranged alphabetically, even if u had arranged it to ur preference, the search index looks for the tags and and then looks up for the title, if there are no tags present for the post, it just goes straight up to the title.

Just looking at search results for "nexus", the very first on page 1 and last post on page 3

Before sometimes it gives error: "No results" but when you put phrase and click enter again there was results.

But still when you put single word like in the example "nexus" it didn't show all the topics with this word in the title.

 

Yep it works much better now. I typed in 'Omnisphere' and @The Pirate's Name came up about 4 billion times :P

In fact, I typed two words to find that thread, the first one was nexus, it brought three pages, and the page I wanted was not found, then I typed refx, and I said that it brings all threads related to refx, I will go find it, but still it He did not bring the thread
At the end, I remembered that I had previously posted something in that thread, so I went to the alert section of my user account and found the thread there.

I have a suggestion, maybe technically correct, maybe not
In my opinion, search results should be given priority for threads that are discussed more and are more active.

 

I think you can find it under Advanced Search.
Click into search box then click right button labeled "More..."
In the next window you will have on the bottom "Order By:"
