I'm also replying here. You can follow these steps :
- Rename you main database temporarily (like "main.db" for example)
- Then rename the db you wanna work on "Library.db"
- Then open ToneXdb Explorer (opens the file named Library.db automatically, without touching any other db in the folder)
- Do your exports
- Rename back your main db to "Library.db"
- Open ToneX and import your exported presets

 

For those having paid amalgam presets : are they really better than free ones ?

 

The free Amalgam presets are the same. The difference is that you get a lot more in the paid packs and some have a mixture of amp and cab along with cab only. Though from what I've read on another forum the cabs can be successfully removed if they are not to people's taste. I personally think that there are some very good free profiles on Tonenet from various people that are just as good if not better than some of the paid profiles. It is just a pain going through all of the bad ones to get to them.

I'm not so sure. I was informed that sharing my paid for guitar presets was against the rules. However there seems to be no shortage of keyboard/synth preset packs being shared.

Sorry for the late reply, I've not been checking this thread since the updates stopped. The answer to your question is Amalgam since you get a lot more presets although the studio rats preset pack 1 contains different amps whereas the Amalgam packs contain presets of one type of amp. I also remember reading somewhere that the method that the studio rats used to make their presets was not as good. Though you will have to search for the original comment if you want details. It's either on the gear page or somewhere in the comments of their YouTube video below.
