I'm using NAM with TH-U cabs, and I also use two instances of FX sims for pre/post amp fx. You can also run a second instance of NAM at the beginning for the drive pedals, which are quite good.

It's about your real time CPU. In Reaper. If you right click on the performance meter, choose 'Display realtime (RT) cpu'

Anyhow: Reaper is way more efficient than Gig performer. For some reason, Reaper is utilizing all your cores while other daws are still single core.

When the model is trained in lite or feather mode, it uses less CPU but people tend to use standard mode because it's more accurate.

Some improvements are being made in the project for a drop in CPU usage, it will probably be released soon. Even if you don't code, take a look at the github repository, there's a list of issues you can upvote so things are addressed acordingly.

    Good luck!

I don't get it, CPU shows 3% for lite models and 6% for normal ones on 10 years old i5. In Reaper, with RT CPU and also windows cpu meter. I imagine it should be < 1% for today systems.

I think this new open source technology will eventually take the crown from Kemper, Fractal, NeuralDSP, and Acoustica Audio, etc., and I also look forward to some amazing new VST plugins. This is disruptive technology at it's finest.

Haven't had much time with NAM yet, but am about to incorporate it into my productions. And yes, I have also tried out combinations. Especially with external IR loaders, because NAM sometimes didn't get along with my cabsims. What I find very interesting (but can't really classify yet) are for example the models "AMS Neve 1073N" and "Studer A807 (Pushed)".

Anyone found any amazing sounding clean amps with nice mic setups at all? ie. not just an SM57 pointed at the speaker.

I'm an idiot. Basically what i'm after is the IR part, and there are millions of good IRs out there.

This was discussed in the Tonex group. Basically, this is a pack I've created for NAM based on paid Tonex Pack. This one is Keith Merrow's Engl Invader. It's a much better way to try these without that annoying noise.

Please, don't send these models to tonehunt.org as cloning models is against the rules of the site.

I'll try and create more in the future.

    Cheers.

    Hi izn444nz
Thank you for the Amp captures very much appreciated
if possible could you please explain in Detail how you go about capturing Amps, I would certainly like to give this a try
Can Amps from other Amp simulations be captured to be used in NAM?
thanks if you could put togther a detailed step by step walkthrough on how to acheive some captures as there is no
detailed infromation that is clear enough to follow, and most leave out steps or the videos on you tube are to old.

    cheers Thank you
