I love how serumy they are trying to be and then you've got the arp pattern export option (GASP) a freedom! Notice comments are turned off in the ad then the video ends with "AND MORE!" Im just sitting here thinking... No... No there's not.

I sure hope they're using better sources for their expansions because only a few of them sound modern and hold up these days.

I bet 4.5 is a gimmick to try like hell and sell something.

They've really dug some deep holes for themselves the last few years and the Nexus hype died long ago.

Especially with so many people trying every expansion with the Nexus 3 crack and finding out most weren't that great.

I wonder how much money that saved people in the long run for something they'd have hardly ever used.

No, 10 years loss of earnings?, In the time where Mr. Hartmann has updated Vanguard, he earns no money.
He adapted Vanguard to modern requirements, i.e. 64 bit and a new GUI.
What exactly he has changed we will see when he appears.

 

In my opinion it is going more towards Avenger but not Serum.. I mean Serum is not the only one that uses wavetables?
AFAIK, Native Instruments Massive an ancient synth is using wavetables and that was when Serum was not even in Stevie mind.
So nothing to do with Serum , what I saw in this video, but more Avenger with editing limitations...

For my taste even though have that repetitive sound, Nexus is still relevant even the true synth lovers are in denial i believe that they also love that specific sound from Nexus.

And I am really happy to see Vanguard 2 is coming with the new preset browser i hope they will integrate and sound banks browser!
That was the very first VST I happen to have and use! I have been using it in some productions where there was no place for that TRANCY sound, but hey I was limited with resources and it was beginning of music production life. Lovely memory with Vanguard.

WOW, right now I am playin with old Vanguard and I can say that this sounds is so current and still top notch sound quality. BIG FAT SOUND from a tiny synth....
OMG, what a miss for years back without further developing and updating it. Pitty.

I saw the same message 1 year ago or more. Someone put a screenshot of e-mail conversation with reFX support.
I suppose that "etc." is contract for license of the audio engine with Markus Krause.
Anyways
I hope that they make a deal with him and there will be his engine.
If not. It not longer will be a Vanguard.

Man, I sure hope so. Vanguard is one of those synths I love so much that I still, to this day launch to play with occasionally.
