I am looking for a plugin VSTi (preferably usable in Studio One) with acoustic guitar loops allowing me to play different chords with different styles. What I am looking for is mostly POP, Folk, Country, Jazz, Blues, etc style. The nearest thing to what I want is UJAM Virtual Guitarist AMBER. That is exactly the idea except that if I remember right the riff choice was limited and I only liked a very few of them! Do you by any chance know a better choice. Main reason for me to use this is:
1- creating Accompaniment for songs I know (but do not have access to instrumental versions)
2- Running chords and find inspiration for vocal melodies.

The $hitty life of a vocalist who dose not have any musicians around!

Scaler2, Captain plugins, Riffer, etc. There are a bunch of that type of plugins, they are called Melody and Chord Assistants.
I think they always come down to users' personal preferences because they all sort of do the same thing, just in different presentations.

You could try some Ample Sound acoustic guitar plugins that have very nice tools for riffs, strummed patterns and so on
Main Pro: you can play and generate basically any riff
Main Con: since it's not a pre-recorded loop the quality is worse

Native Instruments Strummed Acoustic maybe, if you have Kontakt. Never used it myself, but it sounds like it might be the sort of thing you're after.

very similar to ujam amber, but much better imho. also check out native instruments strummed acoustic 2, and session guitarist - picked acoustic and picked nylon.

totally forgot about strummaker iv.it is such an old product, but it was pretty good for its time. i never really liked realguitar. the native instruments products are pretty real, since they are essentially live recorded guitars. but just like any kontakt library, there are limitations.

or more generally, anything that means you're not actually playing a fretboard has limitations. :)

But while recognising that real limitation, I still find all the products mentioned in this thread are great fun to explore and occasionally, with a bit of work, they really can just fit what you want.

Here are some others that OP might like to explore
    https://sugar-bytes.de/guitarist (electric guitars)
    and https://www.applied-acoustics.com/strum-gs-2/

I'm NOT saying these are as good as, or better than, other products above; not trying to find 'the best' - but all worth a look if you like (which I do ) this sort of thing, i.e., guitar emulations + rhythm pattern facilities.
Just seeing how the different products approach it is fascinating.

What about Band-in-a-box, I don't have any experience with this but seems one can make accompaniments in any style and have real band play along in that style

True....though that starts to nicely stretch away from what (I think) @Vampgirl is looking for.

See a comment from this thread.

Re: the styles part of your question:-
One Man Band and vArranger will both work with Yamaha format styles like those from your PSR keyboard.
vArranger can also handle Roland format style files (and Korg, Ketron, others)
There are thousands of styles files in Yamaha and Roland formats freely available on the web.
You could also look at Band in a Box which works with style files in its own proprietary format.
    Also check out Toontrack EZKeys.
But the list goes on and on, with ever more quirky and interesting approaches.

So, we could explore and compare these ideas...
    - rhythm patterns in the guitar packages mentioned in this thread
    - auto-accompaniment styles in the packages mentioned in the other thread in the spoiler.

One important difference is how focussed the packages are (or are not) specifically on guitars.
Lots of pros and cons to explore there but the more you move away from dedicated guitar packages the more you separate midi performance from guitar rendering - and then you will need to do more work (sometimes a lot) to (re)integrate your midi performances with some kind of guitar rendering (including the non-trivial issue of guitar articulations).

We could discuss similar pros and cons for the midi chord packages (see @clone above)
which are very neat but not specifically dedicated to guitars.

Band in a Box offers 'real audio' tracks to exploit, but again pros and cons involved - it's not a dedicated guitar package.

I have only nice things to say about all of the above - if you're creative they're all fun and exploitable - even when sometimes enjoyably frustrating.

Thanks to all of you for your help and suggestions. I am sorry if it took me a little long to get back. Taking the advice is one thing, finding things, downloading with my slow connection, installing and getting things to work and trying them is another and it takes time.

This is what I did till now:
I tried Scaler2, which I find to be full of potential and have opted to learn more about.

I got NI Strummed Acoustic & strummed acoustic 2 from the sister site. Also installed Kontakt 6.6.1
I was able to install and load NI Strummed Acoustic in Kontakt and I am truly impressed with it! It's exactly what I was looking for.
Only strange thing is that it shows as "DEMO" in Kontakt and asks me to activate it! Dose anyone know what I could have done wrong?
There was no other executable file in the iso then "Session Guitarist - Strummed Acoustic 1.1.0 Setup PC.exe"

which flavor of 6.6.1 did you install? from what i have read, the bob dule version is the best. that might fix your "demo" issue.

Thanks a lot for your reply Mr Fusion, I have been pulling my hear all day with no success to get this working. I installed the R2R one from the sister site.

Edit: Thanks a lot for heading my attention toward kontakt itself! I see that there is a R2R Kontakt manager and also found the bobdule one. I will try and post the results :)

Edit 2 : Running the R2R Kontakt manager activated the instrument :mates::wink:
