there are so many de-essers, and it's tricky business to do it well (and not butcher your high end)...which is your favorite? I noticed PA has released a new one and it is tempting me, but I already have a bunch, do I really need the new Lindell 902? it seems pretty cool, very tempting for 29 bucks, de-essing is pretty important for most mixes it's a must...has anyone compared the new Lindell 902 with all the others we have all been using for a while now...I don't think any of the others has the AIR function? but you can always add AIR with the MAAG eq or another cool eq...

 

There is a plug in that is called (Do Not Speak) ,,,works extremely well

I tried that one, but it only pissed off the singer.

 

Melodyne! For vocals there is none better (IMO at least ).

If I need a de-esser for other stuff, like hats/cymbals or whatever, I usually just use Pro-DS. I've tried iZotope RX8 De-ess a few times, and it's okay too but Pro-DS is usually the first one that comes to mind.

Same as @Plainview , pro-ds is my go to for vocals, sometimes Weiss De-ess for whole mixes or really subtle de-essing at the end if the vocal chain. Tried many plugs through the years and those are the ones I stick to lately

Everyone out there knows that Soothe 2 is the top tool for this purpose

 

I love soothe2. that's my current go to, but de-essing is such a CRAFT...it's subtle but it's deep and options are good to have.

Then in that case do it with pen tool, more accurate!
Soothe 2 as you said has to many options and it's multiband, sibilance's or harshness or whatever,
the only cons is cpu usage,
That's my opinion and I could be wrong!

 

I still don’t mind the really old Waves DeEsser sometimes. Does the job.

LSR Audio also makes a VLB902 plugin I've been meaning to buy. Check out the Hofa IQ-Series DeEsser. Still my favorite.
