I want to use this program but I don't know how unnks works or how to even run it. I have no experience with this kind of programs and I can't understand anything that the developer is saying.

you need Total Commander, read how plugins work
UPD: havent seen the link you provided, my comment was about the TC plugin which does the job. It allows you to unpack (*.nks, *.nkx, *.nkr, *.nicnt)
UPD2: well, I realized your link is the same project which afterwards was made as TC plugin

I have both Total commander and the UNNKS zip, I've never used TC and don't know how to use it as a plugin.

After the help from @Synclavier I finally got it! You need Total Commander and the plugin "inNKX for Total Commander" (he helped me to find it. You can find the plugin by typing "inNKX плагин для Total Commander" on Bing).
All the instructions are there, you will have to translate the page but it's easy to follow.
