I'll start out by saying I own Komplete 10. Needing a little more juice and low on funds I downloaded the 5.8 crack and found some great libraries. Some of these do work flawlessly but most of the instruments actually worth something however do not. When extracting with Poweriso I get an error message on the nkx. file. The instruments load (sometimes with missing components) but there's no way to access the actual wav files. I read another brief thread on how to open these files using total command and inNKX. I followed the steps but I'm getting the same thing when trying to open any of these files from all theinstruments I tried. _Пустой контейнер_ (Empty Container.):wtf:If anyone could help it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,
I just joined and saw this thread. Have you been able to make any progress on this? I don't have the same error, but I have other ones when installing the plug-in in Total Commander. If I install it within TC I am told it's not a valid plugin once the file associations pop up. I then installed it with the TC Plugin Manager which works, and I can set the file associations but then when I try to open an .nkx file in TC I am told it can't find the path to INNKX even though the path is correct.

If anyone has some ideas or other methods for extracting .wav's from NKX files I'd love to hear them. I have UNNKS, but it only works on around 30 libraries; INNKX seems to work on many more judging by the readme.

No but let me know if you get anywhere with it. My solution was find a torrent with the files already unpacked, and I have been successful with most. You just have to know the right torrent sites ultramir has had almost everything I needed as well as rutracker. Anything I download from the sister site its always something.

Interesting, I use Rutracker often but had not heard of the other one. On Rutracker most of the stuff I'm looking for is still in .nkx. Strangely some of the older .nks libraries which UNNKS can extract were even converted to nkx on there!
I'm mostly on the lookout for percussion libraries. Vir2 World Impact, Tapspace Virtual Drumline, CinePerc, etc...and detailed cymbal samples (wish someone knew how to extract from BFD...) I am loading the samples into a drum module, which supports well over 100 velocity layers when available so the response is very natural.

I'm about to finish a thread about how to use Total Commander inNKX plugin, but I think that's not your problem. inNKX can't fix non-working samples.
I'd advise you to mount the Komplete iso's (not extract them!) on virtual DVD drive using the same UltraISO. Then copy the contents to a hard disk or SSD. Try to load in Kontakt

Those things indeed can be done with Total Commander with inNKX plugin. It's a total pain in the ass to correctly set up the plugin. Of course you need Kontakt itself as well. inNKX only extract/pack samples, images, and so on. It doesn't compress them. NKS is a container of uncompressed wav sample files. NKX is a container of compressed *.ncw sample files. Though the latter can contain both kinds. You can just think of nks, nkx, nicnt and nkr as iso files used by Kontakt. In some cases (nicnt) there are some strict rules, that's another history.

Ah...I did not think one needed Kontakt itself to be installed in order to use InNKX, since I only need to extract samples and UNNKS did not need Kontakt installed. That might be my issue, then. Since I don't actually plan on using the samples on a computer, I was hoping this would not be the case.

How much needs to be done within Kontakt itself for this to work correctly? I am blind and it seems most versions of Kontakt are not at all accessible. I think some of the recent ones are with their external controller but this would be overkill just to extract some .wav's! lol

You're right, you only need Kontakt if you want to convert between wav (uncompressed) format and ncw (compressed).
Just with inNKX you (probably) can extract the samples, but most of them will be in .ncw format.
To use inNKX you just need Total Commander. I'm posting it ASAP in the thread I commented.

Ah ok great I will be looking forward to it. I know some of the nkx files I want to extract have .wav's, so it will at least help with those for sure.

To install inNKX it is important that Total Commander is running with administrator rights. Double click on the original inNKX zip-file in Total Commander and you see an install menu, unfortunately in russian language with kyrilic letters, but it works.

I just read on another thread that you need 64bit to install InNKX. If this is true, that would explain my issue I guess...unless there's a workaround for 32bit users I'm out of luck.
