I'm glad I just saw this post. I read through all the rules & although I was going to uphold mot of them without knowing about them previously because it seems like logical common sense.

But I'm still glad I read them so I know not to say certain things then find myself out of luck on the other side of this community which I find very useful as there are many intelligent members sharing their knowledge on plugins & techniques around here just trying to genuinely be helpful on top of long trials which are posted on the sister site.

 

haha... so you have noticed the petite authoritarian bent of certain members of late. welcome to the machine. most likely there is some kind of pathology to blame, but maybe they are just american (no grounds for judgement, i am sure there are some very fine people among them). it is definitely more annoying than minor technical infractions that it supposedly sets out to address. these same people think it is perfectly fine to insert themselves offtopic with inane disparaging remarks, at a whim. what applies to one seemingly does not apply to all. enjoy the hypocrisy ;)

*please be aware that merely questioning this faux-authority has probably made you persona non grata. that is by no means a bad thing on this website. in fact it is very freeing. wear it with pride. it is a better list to be on than those other stupid lists.

*** FIX FOR VR Installer "Out of Memory" Error ***

I had this same issue with VR installers as well, but I managed to figure it out. Two or three others confirmed it worked for them as well. Oddly enough, the fix was just simply to install any pending Windows updates. It was like they were blocking the installer, or something. So, give that a shot if you are still running into this problem.

anyone who is willing to act on 'i see it as', rather than on interpretation of the intent of the rules should be kept away from anything even resembling power.

interesting developments. wish they were interesting enough to motivate me to find out more. unfortunately those people are just not that interesting.

YES! i tried to install using that installer on another PC which has the latest version of Windows, and it WORKED! it might be because the installer uses some method that isn't allowed in the older versions of Windows or something like that. thank you for suggesting me this method! and also thank you everyone else who took their time to help me out!

i wanted to give hint to others having the same issues as op
those steps helped me! I also shut down the "explorer" task in task manager, just to be sure. Installation went smooth afterwards.
