Using something like this is actually cheaper and more reliable than buying a WD Passport for example, because on the 2,5" the Controller is soldered directlly to the disk to make it smaller, to cater to the smaller is better mentatlity. But if something is wrong with it you can't fix it yourself. With an enclosure you can just pop the disk in and out as you need. So you can pick the disk (brand, speed, etc.) you want in there instead of buying something that you don't really know what's inside and is almost impossible to service yourself.

 

German Laws - If you tell your customer, "yeah sure, you can format, and something happens then , its a grey area where you could sue native for false information which lead to your ssd being unfunctional.

Again guys, I never meant to open such a can of worms, though it has been informative in terms of how the ratings system works etc. Its cool to see the place is ran like this, its my favorite forum by far. I did take offence to the reply which triggered the discussion on negative ratings but I can see all the points raised since. All the best
