why are releases bloated by being re-repacked and consisting of tiny parts?
is it too difficult for uploader to provide those properly archived just once?

just asking out of curiosity, no hate

Not sure what you're driving at. A 300mb file split into 10 30mb ones, for example?

Rar's unpacking to more rar's that further unpack to a zip file that unpacks to an iso?

It's a common standard adhered to by releasers for well over a decade.

I don't know for sure but I always thought it was because in the past internet connections weren't that fast and less reliable.
So smaller packages would be better in case your connection drops, meaning you wouldn't have to download 1GB again.

Also the hosting sites have a limit for uploaded files.

    Yes, we all hate this.
I believe that the rar overuse is produced by the various exchanges on ftp's between crackers-distributors-releaser01-releaser02 etc. What I normally do is to rebuild the original installer (unrar / unzip / extract from .dmg), copy it together with the additional crack, deleting all the useless files (.nfo, .ds_store etc.), delete all rar's and finally install on my computer and after that archiving it.

It is tedious, but it would perhaps be unfair to ask the final releaser to do it. Let's put it this way: it's the price to pay to have an app for free

A lot of hosters have bots that look inside of zip and rar files but can't see inside of those packed in layers. Blame copyright holders for that.
Hosters wouldn't care if it wasn't for the DMCA and lawsuits.

Another reason is the sharer gets paid per download. Why convenience you with one download when they can get paid for 10 and get free hosting?

not only for date or intructions which are usualy in nfo and not in txt

Wrong hypothesis. The final parts you can download aren't the small parts the OP was complaining about. This thread is about the multiple compressing process.
The real answer is in your previous comment.

One more thing (just a sidenote):
Upload a keygen file to google drive and then try to download it. It will refuse it. You can sucessfully achieve it only if you compress the file with any type of password-protection.

    I'm just curious,
seeing fitgirl repacks I'm quite impressed by the high-yet-losless compression ratio of the archives,
I thought it has something to do with these files too..

Not wrong. This has been a point of contention for many years. It has been admitted by posters in the past. :bleh:

I agree with you, that's also playing part of the story but not in the issue the OP pointed out.
Yes, many times releasers divide archives to multiple parts, and when the total size is ridiculously small, it's clear why they did it.
But this thread is about the re-repacked archives, sometimes repacked 2 or 3 times (plus further diskimages on mac). You can't explain that behavior with the number of downloads because those zillion tiny parts are inside less bigger parts that people can download.
E.g.: you download 5 huge parts that are rar-ed from 30 tiny parts.

some hosts have limits for free users or downloaders.
sometimes people get cut off and sometimes have to start again from scratch.
sometimes people dont want to leave their computer running while they are running their lives.
    etc.

the only benefit i can think of with a single file is that you can start it and walk away, but the cons outweigh the pros for me

show us a release from proper source which pack like this
    show us
    come on

    ---
i hate it when ppl just mix up things with inte style stuff or non audio
and tell me has rapidgator same file size as uploaded
BTfW history showed it was the right choice to use these 2 hosters as regular az hosters
