Relating to this recent discussion https://audiosex.pro/threads/hardware-synths-and-midi-jitter.49954/, @Blue might give Linux a try - if there is one OS that allows for tweaking it to achieve better low-latency MIDI message handling then it must be Linux.

 

Time i spent on Linux is one of the thing Im worrying about in my life. This time could be spent on music production, but not for stupid thing as starting audio interface. I dont think that if you work with midi controllers and audio different from integrated you will feel you comfortable inside Linux.
