I cant keep it to just 20 because there are much more, so i choose the genre, but in that order:

    1. Oldschool 80´ = rap(hip hop), electronic, pop
    2. Oldschool underground = ´90 electronic
    3. 60´ music
    4 70´ music
    5. 50´ music

Totally agree! Although I also love the album "ULTRA" (its no.3 in my Depeche Mode Top Album List).
I have a suspicion...Since Martin and Dave emmigrated to the States and Martin decided to do his teeth, their music became boring and less
innovative....Call me stupid, but I think the dreariness and hopelessness in the 80ies in GB and Berlin was much better for Martins creativity than the ever shining sun in California.
In these days, tickets are much to expensive, the tours are too long, the locations are too big, the music is to minimal (Alans deep arangements are missing)....for me every song sounds more like a demo than like a finished song. ARGH...Alan come back! :(

that band that wrote all their own material in the 1970s, cutting across age, gender and species stereotypes... the wombles.

oh yes, and ray davies and ringo's mates.
and most bands that played erics in liverpool at the back end of the 70s and the hac in manchester in the early 80s.

oh yes, and me and lots of folks already listed by everybody else above.
some pretty tasteful members here... oops, that might have come out wrong again.
