    get rid of your thoughts and hopes, you will never have broken CUBASE AND NUENDO to work on it, no team will ever bring it out. this you will never see .. otherwise for almost 11 years now, it would have already been broken .. this should make you understand that there will never be .. from TEAM VR, from R2R and many other teams .. the times of the great "AiR and H20" They will never be born again ... if you can't buy it, first change Daw ..

    Now that the dongle is officially dead, imo Steinberg should release older Cubase versions up to 8.5 plus other deprecated software plugins without protection, to prevent any projects no longer opening properly just because that stupid dongle fails and is not allowed to be replaced :/

    Steinberg often don't bother fixing bugs in previous releases, forcing you to upgrade instead, you can forget them releasing old versions without protection!
    As far as I know, the protection code was built into the application itself, it would mean removing protection code from older versions which aint going to happen.
