I mentioned the old "Dolby" trick while chatting with Quinto of SKnote a while ago and he told me that they were actually already working on a plugin version of it. You can see mention of it in the News section of their website now.

Haven't tried yet. I wanted to install the latest greatest Waves package before I tackled this. Now that I've gotten that successfully done, I'll do another backup, upgrade Platinum, and see if that takes care of it. (suggestion from @Jaymz) I'll post back into this thread if I get it working or not. Likely have an answer by this weeks end.

I been trying to add more air in a less sibilant way to the backing vocal tracks, and this thing might be just the ticket to achieving that!

 

You should try one of the old Dbx noise reduction system sold for a 100 bucks on ebay.

AAMS is a copy paste system. ( and a very accurate one )
You cant do that on 2 different track for obvious reasons.

 

I'm honestly not clear on what you're talking about, particularly the "cut and paste" part. The AAMS app loads an unmastered stereo audio file (specifically, 44.1 kHz/16-bit broadcast WAV). You then select a style/song sample from their list of commercial masters that you want your file to sound like. It then analyzes your mix and applies processing (compression, EQ, limiting) to make it sound like the "finished" mix/style you selected. Unless I'm mistaken, I believe it also does batch processing.

Unfortunately, like Prosoniq's Dynasone, Arboretum's Ionizer or even iZotope's Neutron, it doesn't actually turn a bad mix into a good mix, it just does what it can to reshape your mix into the same predetermined parameters as a selected commercial mix. It might even make your bad mix sound worse. If your mix was "almost there", a plug or an app like that might help a little.

 

Thats what I call a Copy / Paste process.
Also, AAMS can analyze your favorite track and apply its setting to your unmastered track.
That is also a Copy / Paste process to me.
Or a Carbon copy haha

I have been looking for this acústica D316A plugin and I have been unable to find a macosx version. LEft in format Au and Vst format in D316-V3, but it is impossible to make a copyright, since it is not even on sale, it is discontinued. Some plugin or nebula library that emulates ??

Okay, I think I understand what you meant -- that it copies the frequency spectrum of a commercial mix and pastes it onto your mix? That makes sense.
