Prime Loops / Total Samples / Samplephonics / Loopmasters release quality, usable stuff consistently imo.

I also tend to find myself picking bits and bobs from Vengeance packs every now and again. One of my favorite samplepacks called Superdrums 8000 by Doru Malia (http://www.image-line.com/content/Samples/SuperDrums+8000/) which has an insane variety of different types of percussion hits.

    Also, http://freesound.org/ :like:

love the 808, cr8000, tr 505 & 606 , actually all vintage boxes - they cruise as freeware all over the web - and digging old akai samples, some have even individual L R loops avoid the obvious repetition feel, cool trix they used back in the days. now its all gone and today they are able to expand 1meg of real content over 1gb of data, with 256 bar long kick loops with a variation on beat 255 so you have no reason to cut it ...

best service, mutteki, xfer, amg, zero-g, goldbaby have nice stuff, all the big ones bfa, luupmeisters vary too much in quality and style but quality wise there is a trend down imo, vengeance used to be a useful source - today it seems like there are only construction kits left as its the fastest way to create a huge amount of data, what makes us think we get a lot of bang for the buck :winker: there was a brand few years ago, all fancy style product design, they managed to create a 3gb package based on few sounds (<10) providing it as loops in different bpm, formats - that was really innovative. most of the time there was a goodlookin fem model on the cover

the more variety a sample cd offers the more its mi gusta, love it to have a salsa rhythm right beside the jungle loop.

but honestly ... if you buy for example logic pro x for 300 bucks you get 70gb of audio content plus all the synths, if thats not enough to release songs until end of mankind idk :dunno: except your into serious stuff like orchestra in the box ...

the best source is still the sampler, sample what you like, play with it, rearrange, destruct, synthesize it ...

Guys, please, can you mention exact sample packs and for what purpose and genres, name dropping vendors is not helping that much at all :mates:

Fair enough, there are plenty of layered/processed acoustic samples and whatnot in there (even sampled from vinyl), even if there wasn't, good snare is good snare and so on, but you have to agree that for hip hop or metal, dropping what they ask for any Vengeance sample pack would be quite an waste of money or not that suitable/time consuming to find something appropriate in the first place even if you got it free of charge, so yeah, guess the thing for this thread is favorite stuff that actually works favorable/best for given role/thing, quite sincerely, I want to know some real gems among gig's of stuff that is out there and mentioned already, have a feeling OP wants that too, so yeah. :mates:

Guess I mentioned this in another thread here, but I really find this sample pack awesome for drums, not just for EDM, very clean samples not lifted from tracks, so much of them, remember when I had hand picked collection of everything I could download, this stuff were majority of it, go figure, among so much Vengeance and all that stuff, this was top when I actually got around to organize and filter out the junk, so yeah, would recommended this for sure.

Native instruments for any clean sounding drums. They have packs made/intended towards different genres and audiences. For more gritty/thick/analog hip hop and rap samples, Illmind and beat butcha probably have the best stuff in my collection. Sound in Hd is decent too.

i produce underground deep & progressive house (Not EDM), and i use a blend of samples from quite a few companies.
I tend to stay away from over-processed samples that are already compressed and overblown, as i work with much more raw, cleaner samples for my style of productions.

Some great sample companies have been mentioned already for clean raw samples, like Samplephonics and (most of) Loopmasters but Ill try and contribute something that hasnt been mentioned already... :P I like to use samples from less popular, but still great quality companies, so not every producer has heard the same samples, like is happening with Vengeance packs...

Some of my favourite packs for clean usable and no over-processed drum one shots are coming from CR2 Records Studio Essentials, most of the deep & tech packs are pretty solid are very underrated!
Lately ive found some great usable hi-hats and various kick, clap, and drum samples in Soundbox's packs, like the Ibiza Tech, Deep, and Real Progressive House packs...
Another company is Waveform Recordings, most of their packs have great FX sounds for all sorts of hits, delayed trippy sounds, and FX loops.
Audioteknik also has some great packs for FX, like their "FX Collection" , "House FX " "Dark FX" packs...lots of usable material for deeper, progressive, or techy styles of house or trance.

For grandpa, there's not a lot of real good sample pack. (I hate generics big name like loopmasters, primeloops, etc, etc if I can't read any informations (including photos of the lab) about the process, the hardware, the converters, the studio, the gears or the producer who made it, it sounds wack too me )
For Analogish Drum Machine sound, check http://samplesfrommars.com/ .
You can also check http://www.wavealchemy.co.uk/ or http://www.nodoughmusic.com/
THE ULTIME ANALOG DRUM MACHINE : Check this , it's just unbelievable about 63000 bucks of gears at http://www.drivenmachinedrums.com/

If you like Hip-Hop, you can check http://hiphopdrumsamples.com/ , they do a lot of collaborations with legendary producers.
In electronic, you can check the SPLICE exclusive release.

Then, you have in no particular order SAMPLEPHONICS, GOLDBABY, SONICSPECIALISTS, SOUNDINHD, VENGEANCE,

After dat, one of the secret rulez is too keep an open eye on some facebook's or twitter's producer, because they give away some samplebanks (Jad, Vultaire, Boi1da, etc, etc, etc)

& this is just the tip of the iceberg. (there's free banks from great producers in forum like gearslutz, etc, etc)
    My 2 cents.

Than little disclaimer from my side too, when I say EDM, I mean electronic dance music in general, I'm aware that this term is (ab)used for naming that Beatport charting festival mainroom/bigroom/electro/dubstep, but in all fairness, when Wiki update their disclaimer, I'm gonna too, electronic music is broad term and electronic dance music is EDM, so yeah
