The cracked software its just taking more time ( a little ) for all the install steps... cause the reversers do all the hard work to simply it in 2 o 3 more steps than the original... i feel u either but dont forget, that for example in my case, arturia make a REALLY mess with ALL legit installed plugins when i tried to uninstall them... why a musician have to know where the folder of arturia is at %appdata%? meu deus i just want to make music not gettin involved on pc guts... dont make me talk about reinstalling windows for that reason... when u want to know why ur SSD are full after uninstallin all of what u "want" and its not enough... cause shitty official devs... well idk u but this takes a lot more time...
The only thing i struggle sometime its to update some libraries or plugins... like ezdrummer... i love VR make it happen but what a mess updating in certain steps... i would love to just install and done but not work that way.

Hope u can see what i mean... choose what u sacrifice... time? money( i mean gettin hardware ) ???

I don't want to sound rude but the whole thread seems baity. The title, the problem in itself, those kind of statements
    followed by those
    and finishing with this one

I don't know but you sound like an undercover officer asking for a joint on pothead's group to see whos holding the dope. I mean, you really may be running into trouble. In that case, a quick view on this thread can make you adress your problem in a more accurate way.

But i never heard of a software bug that deletes a saved project. If you change the location of the file, you still run into this? This is very specific and the whole situation looks terrifying if it's true.

okay this is hilarious. i'm sure you were joking, but just in case - try visiting the support forum for any major software out there.

    @Nick Bellagio,
I understand your frustration. I've been there too.
I don't think it is a matter of your computer hardware, but a problem with Ableton Live. These guys are lazy since they have their loyal users, they are not up to polish their software. It's like they have no rivalry and they don't bother. Just an example: it was not until Bitwig showed up in the market with its multi-pattern MIDI view that Live implemented it on version 10... but only for a maximum of 7 patterns, while on Bitwig this is unlimited.
I used Live for like 4 or 5 years and it was constantly crashing every time I opened another project while having one already open. So, every time I had to re-open Live and re-open the project. It crashed any time that there was a VST misbehaving, or I did something it didn't like, such as tweaking a knob it didn't like or duplicating a track full of fx and stuff in the bus.
When Bitwig showed up, I found the first version on sister site and I gave it a try (I read that the developers were workers that came from Ableton who were fed up with that company). And I tell you one thing: it has been really stable. It helps it has a few ways of managing the VSTs, keeping them on a separate engine, so the audio engine can crash, but Bitwig will still be there. You just re-activate the audio engine and you're back to normal.
Since then, I switched from Live to Bitwig and I even bought it when I saw it was what I was looking for.
So I don't think it is a matter of software cracked or not. My experience is that when talking about Ableton Live, it is Ableton Live. And I haven't come back to it since then.

I recommend to you to try another DAW first, instead of investing more money updating your computer or getting a new one. It'll always be the same.

I had an old computer and it crashed, so I thought it was the PC hardware, being not enough powerful. In 2019 I got the most powerful I could find and afford, and it was still the same with Live... No problems with Bitwig, though... So I'm still with same computer from 2019, Bitwig, Windows 10 and same hardware.

This is in one way, a fair statement; but It's amazing how many "bugs" new users can discover in software they don't even know how to use yet.

I think too, that this thread is bait. The problem is not that fishy (but a little suspicious), but his statements are kinda weird. The persons looks a little like a mac fanboy or undercover developer.

I use windows and I never had any problems with machine crashing. For me it looks like you have a really bad Ableton version or some serious hardware problems. Or your "optimized" PC just doesn't work properly. Your problems are not normal. Most people who use cracked software don't have your problems on their machine....

That's because many, many, many Windows users wildly overestimate their level of expertise and end up "tweaking" their installations into broken messes every couple of months. They never learn, they can never leave well enough alone. Apple users don't dig into system internals nearly as much because the environment is more closed/walled/guided/restrictive to begin with.

Ignore the "top 50 secret hacks MS doesn't want you to know" & "totally free performance tweaks" shit posts if you don't have the mind for tech stuff and time to fully learn and understand what the fuck it is that you're doing to your system and you'll have a Windows installation that'll run fine for a decade.

So, it makes you feel good when Windows users have trouble, because they talk down on Mac, (which is stupid 'cause it's only Windows users who post problems like this)? Nice

    * Back up your data and reformat.

    * Install an LTSC version of Windows 11 to greatly reduce the number of updates and bloatware.

    * Activate using MAS (find it on GitHub via a Google search)

    * Save a PS1 file for Chris Titus Tech Utility and use it when needed if needed.

    * Disable Windows Defender, unless you can't protect your computer without it, in which case, leave it activated.

THIS x1000. Instead of using provided installers, apps like pacifist allow you manually grab only what you want from the package + view the install scripts to see if theres anything you may need to do alongside. If a crack is fairly simple or employs a true keygen, grab the retail installers from the manufacturer site and do it yourself. In cases where you have to use an executable / installation app, run it on a secondary machine then copy over the plugin + required application support files. 98% of my crashes in the last 5 years have all been from legitimately purchased softwares.

TLDR; if stability is a concern, stop and use your brain. learn how things interact & see what an executable stands to alter on your system beforehand instead of mindlessly running apps / messing with core system files because someone on a forum said to do so.
