Hiya, I'm very new here. I tried installing some vst plugins but noticed that my program did not detect them. Is there any specific reason for this? I read through FAQs as well as the download guide and did some googling, but I can't seem to find any good answers. Is there any specific thing I need to do to make it work?

 

Your DAW has a setting which specifies the folders it scans to detect plugins. You need to make sure the VSTs you install are going to that folder, or add the folder they are installing to (in case it is different) to your DAW's scan path. You can even copy and paste the plugin files (DLL, VST3) to the folder specified in your DAW. For example, in case of VST3s in Windows, the path is usually C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

If it still doesn't help, please mention specifics. Which DAW? What plugins?

 

Of Course you are asking about legitimate software, correct? Helping to install "pirated" software would be not be good for membership to do so, as this would be bad for.... reasons....

Some DAWs (e. g. Reaper) scans new plugins at startup, some DAWs (e.g. FL Studio) don't, they require you to start scan of new plugins manually. What DAW do you use?
