I am not exactly sure and I am only saying this based on my experiences.
With all my friends and acquaintances, musicians, listeners, young and old, people who are familiar with music and those who don't know about it that I have talked, I came to the conclusion that none of them know how to work with notes. If you put a musical instrument in front of them and tell them to make a 10-minute song, without exception, none of them can do it.
Everyone listens to music every day from morning to night and consider themselves experts in music, but they cannot work with the most basic thing in music, which is notes. I don't mean reading the note sheet. I mean using notes in making music.
How is this possible? It's like everyone claims to be a doctor, but no one can cure a disease.
It's really amazing to me how someone who has spent years of his life making or listening to music can't work with notes and make good music. How do you really think this problem can be treated?
If this big problem is not treated, people's music will not progress even after many years. No matter how much music is made, without understanding how to use the notes, all other efforts will be ineffective.

But i mean, most of the people you listed don't necessarily need or want to understand music to that level, why should they be able to make a 10 minute song? Even if they called themselves "music experts" that can mean many things, maybe they just know a lot about the history of popular music, or can name every genre under the sun, who knows.

Leading by example. If you don't like the way something's done then do it yourself, maybe if people like it or even care enough about it they'll follow.

What you said and the questions you asked somehow confirm my words. Whenever the name of notes comes up, there are always excuses to get away from it.

 

It was quite clear. It was a clear question how to bring people who are running away from notes back to the essence of music.

A serious answer:

If whatever the OP is talking about is actually demonstrable, then you the OP needs to shut the fuck up with the words and shows us peons how to properly construct music using notes. Don't respond to me with more words, record something and shows us your notes.

Anything short of that, and your prove yourself to be nothing but a hypocrite.

@Danie - if you want to be taken seriously, try asking for the PRACTICAL usage of notes.

As only two examples of a multitude of sensible questions that could be asked:

• I have a melody that I like. What notes will best enhance this melody in counterpoint and rhythmic phrasing to make it even better?
• I have a great melody but I want to change some of the notes in the chord and substitute other notes or collective harmony to imply a darker/lighter/happier/sadder/impending doom mood?

If you are serious, ask a serious question not a thread that is clearly troublemaking.
