i want to update my macos but i dont know if the programs and vsts ive installed and cracked on mojave will work on monterey or not
are these vsts cracks working on monterey ?

if everything you need is compatible with Mojave, then stay with Mojave,
also if you have older Mac, Monterey may not be at all supported

 

I agree with @tzzsmk : OS Monterey is structured for the M1 processor, but there doesn't seem to be any benefit using it with older Intel. I believe you should stay on Mojave until your next M1 processor hardware upgrade.

In my opinion the only downside to still using Mojave / Intel is that some apps are discontinued (mainly Logic and Adobe Suite), fortunately their versions of some time ago still work.

Do you actually need Logic 10.6 or .7 for something? I would definitely update OS if I was stuck at 10.4 because 10.5 is a massive update. 10.6 and .7 are not, to me.

 

Both are fine. I am on Big Sur now on my machine.

 

Logic 10.5.1 works with Mojave

 

yup. but my reason for staying at Mojave is Catalina "breaks" audio over usb with Virus Control plugin. something they will probably never fix, but will be good excuse to buy an m1 eventually.

 

I just spend 2 days downgrading to Mojave from Catalina (got myself a virus ti2 ) so don't upgrade!
