Funny you should like that one, as I think that's the best out of the 4 followed by p84. p07 is called Slow Chorus: Deep chorus for electric piano, according to the manual. Unfortunately I don't think I can tack that p05 on it, but I could use midi from the sequencer
to switch from one to the other.
The unit is a Zoom RFX 2200. Coudn't find out much on the net, bar a sound on sound article from 2005, a really shit demo on Youtube, and reviews from online shops like Sweetwater, where people seemed to rate them.

If you don't have the manuel, here it is.

  6. I liked both of them. ENo1 had my body swirling around like I was in zero-g but I never got dizzy. In 2CL I at first for 2 seconds thought you might be playing guitar but then I realized that you were not. I really dig your drum sound and your sense of space in a mix, really great stuff.

    Thank you.

It's not a guitar, it sample tank re-amped. It was played on a launchpad pro in chromatic mode which is why i chose a guitar, was trying out the poly after-touch and how comfortable it would be to play a guitar on a 8x8 grid. It's better than playing a stringed percussion instrument on a keyboard, but there is still a slight disconnect. Maybe when I have time and funds I'll buy a Linstrument and test that. It was interesting.

The other track - Etude No 1 is just that - was playing with different drones and trying to make some interesting synth patches.

Nice to read you enjoyed them.

This should be pretty much complete (high frequencies are distorted in zippy's mp3, but I'm concerned about another thing)
I'm just wondering if the middle section is out of tune or not. It uses some weird notes, I don't know how this technique is called but Foster and others were talking about in another thread as well. I just thought it sounded nice and gives a bit of mystery after upbeat moments, maybe it doesn't and sounds like crap? I don't know, I kinda like it though
    I'm talking about 2:30 till 3:30

EDIT: Maybe I look like dick, not commenting on other people's tracks and works, but they're not really a style I'd feel comfortable giving tips. Besides, I'm one of the worst in here. So, sorry, I just try to comment on other people's work when it feels I can say a real "good job" or give some tips

It does sound like it. Now whether it's out of tune with itself, or just the rest of the track is a different question, but then again i personally feel that the sax sound doesn't fit with the rest of the tune. Like the rest of it though, reminds me of early 90's.
Somtetimes it's good to hear from people, who produce a different genre, as they have a different prospective, which can give us ideas. As long as you're being constructive, being an expert is often immaterial.

Just had a chance to listen to this at work today. Impressive for a first take! I miss my old Ibanez acoustic. It had the neck of an electric, it felt, and great tone.

  12. Thanks for the thought. About the Ibanez, I really enjoy playing it as the action is incredibly low and I can let it rip (as you heard on a few bits on the clip) without nary a buzz. The all maple body issues forth a very defined attack, and that combined with the jumbo size is however one that belies what I thought that it would be sound like on my first listen, booming and deep. It is however, although incredibly well defined, almost delicate, close in many ways to the sound Cat Stevens enjoined us with his parade of Ovations in the 70's and into the 1980's. It is almost the complete opposite of the D-15 hog, as the Martin would have me work and sweat it out for every single note, has a SUPER duper low end and an action that is anything but like an electric. I haven't named either of them yet...odd.

Sorry, still haven't run the STA-level to send you the files. Perhaps maƱana.

I love Ibanez's necks. They call em F.A.S.T. necks for a reason. Flat and unfinished. I sand my necks with a hi grit sandpaper to make em more buttery satin smooth feeling. I like the natural wood but it takes maintenance to keep em silky like teak on a boat. I cant stand finished necks. The 2 part epoxy/laminate/lacquer is sticky to me.

Thanks superliquidsunshine, that's a lovely compliment.
Shame you're not an a&r man with huge pockets full of cash, which would only be bettered if you told me I didn't have to make the video in skimpy underwear to get attention like everyone does these days, boys and girls. :bleh:

Thanks @mozee :like: Obviously as a work in progress it's no where near complete yet, but doing my constant mp3 loop listen thing on my phone, I've got some idea of lyrics, where I want to add some new parts tot he arrangement and experiment with others sounds and bits and pieces.
I have a day off tomorrow and I'm hoping that will fire off a few brain sparks to move the song forward.

As for that video, well, video nasty springs to mind

I'm currently Trying to figure out how I will finish my EP project.
I'm doing some sort of soul/jazzy chill hop project but i want to apply a finish different from the mass in the subgenre . I have an Idea and i'll try it but I think i'll have to replace all my drums and that mean a lot of work :/
