    Thankyou.
It's not too bad, as a lot of the parts are played in and, then become part of the pattern section, so it's mainly muting and unmuting parts and changing sections. luckily there's only 2 sequencers going at the same time.
Strange as it may sound, but I prefer to work this way. I feel my music is more organic, so to speak.and better of for not working in a DAW.
I'm also much more productive this way too.
Anyways, I'm kinda swaying towards the Zoom RFX 2200 at the moment, as it seems to have more vocal options. It even has a vocoder, so if I get bored I can play with that too.

Why do you always point out how long it takes? It's like me saying I wrote the lyrics to my song in just 40 minutes. It's not important how long something takes. What's important is that it gets finished. As you progress you find that some of you best work happens really fast, as things just flow out. Then you have to resist the temptation to alter to much, as you think it was too quick to be complete.
Well you'd be wrong then. I really like this. The elements go together well. It is sonically pleasing and it flows nicely. BUT, there is one big problem with it, and that is the chances of ever hearing a finished version of it.
But now that you have posted it in this thread, it's obligatory that you finish it and post it up for us to listen to.
I didn't need to. I liked it the first time round.

Sorry, but that's not true. Your snippet is good, I didn't switch it off while listening, but musical impresionism is about keeping impressions of moments, therefore willing to tear down any structure to describe a feeling instead of a form. Your snippet however is formulaic.

But that doesn't mean it is not carrying a feeling. It is. But it's not impressionism.

    1) String arrangement for a professional string quartet
    2) Tracking on two of my songs. Drums recorded already (sweet sounding Neve 1073lb and API 1608 pres). Nex up is bass, guitar, vocals, etc
    3) stereo mic assignment. Set up mics and do "fixed mic placement" recording in a room, and placing instruments/voice according to relationship/distance I would want to "mix" it. I'll go with Blumelein and record myself playing three instruments and sing. Interesting approach, and very educational.

Yeah, I've got the BBE too. I'm going to have to try rewiring my rack now. Wonder how those toys will make the Krank sound?
We're not Death Metal by any means, but I am the crunch guy in the band. :metal:

    +100 for that.

Performance and the decisions you make during the performance must stand on their own, the post stuff should mainly be polish and some tweaking. It needs to sound good going in.

I guess I'll share a rough idea I got bored with and its not my usual shtick but I was looking into doing something different.

I am not even sure what genre or what this would fit under, and it is pretty ugly no mixing or w/e just what came in with some panning as it came in, the end the last 30 seconds just got so generic and boring I kind of stopped there and never really went back to it.

    Should open in dropbox player.

  7. It sounds a lot like what I do too much of the time, noodle around, take it to a certain level, lose the thread and never come back to it again. I have ton of these things. It is a little different with songs that I write on the guitar though. I will write a cool ass song and never properly record it for lack of a drummer, etc, a thousand excuses. I really should just create some singer/songwriter versions, at least for posterity's sake so that I can be proven that after I die that I really did exist, LOL.

@mozee I like the jazzy feeling of the first minute very much. I understand why you started it in the first place. I also understand why you stopped working on it in the end. If you can consider taking the first part out of context and see where improvising to it would lead you to. It is really good material that let's you dream.

@superliquidsunshine Correct ;) You should just fire out things without thinking too much. Your voice alone is so good that it can carry a song almost on its own! And regarding the proof you did exist: Just hand down all your stems to me (or is it "bequest it all to me"?) and I'll make sure your existance is recognized all over the world :)

I always try and do a basic mix of every song I write. As long as the arrangement is okay and the lyrics are in place, I'm happy to move on to the next one.
We're only here for so long, and my talent is finite, so I don't worry about the eq on the hi hat in bar 34 or whether the automation curve is curvy enough etc.
Besides, if it's really good, a label is going to redo the whole thing in a studio before release anyway.

Passing by again to drop a WIP (and listen some of your guys masterpieces :D)

(delete the space in HTTPS, cant find a way to embed a private link)

Can you guys give me your opinion on the sound of this s***? It is a Mastering bounce (8PLR, 8DR, 10RMS), not a mix though. Opinion on the music itself would be appreciated too :D

YES! Couldnt say it any better, same as SubGenre though, the mixing is so inspiring too.

today i got a challenge from a producerbuddy of mine. we ussualy do that on and off. i find it helps to break out of the routine when working on creating music. A "playground session" of some sorts. just to let go of all exceptations.to experiment and have fun!

this time i got 1 sample and a Bpm to start with.

the sample was shit, and the bpm was 111bpm.
    WTH?:dunno::woot:

i could post the results here later. if i darre:excl:

Well I like it. Kind of Chillstep. Now I'm no mixing engineer, but the sound does seem to fit that genre, and nothing was unpleasant to my ears, if you get my meaning on the mastering front.

O.K. So this is the follow up to "Our Sins" called "We Are Dark" which will be the 2nd song I've written. This is just a small part(chorus into first verse to chorus and outro). The vocals are a bit rough, hoping to pick up an fx processor after next weekend, so I'll be able to clean them up a bit better, Just giving you an idea of the song really.

Thank you! hardly need external ears on this one, I've done it pretty fast comparing to my average and I wasnt sure where to stand in the mastering process. Won't get louder than this though!

Pretty interesting imo! The bass layer got me, you should consider punchier drums phrases on this though! Good voice for creative fx vocals too :)
