Earlier this year Jay-Lee, a talented producer out of Glasgow, put out a call for remixers for his debut album "All or Nothing". After listening through the album, Stuck In Time was the track that caught my attention the most.

I slowed things down and rewrote the music around his vocals, shooting for a more classic hip hop vibe. Also leaned into the theme of time and loss by sampling La Jetée, a French film about time travel that 12 Monkeys is loosely based on.

Today I turn 51 and I'm releasing a new track to mark the occasion.

Been sitting on this one since fall of last year. I was asked to create music for an upcoming Gran Turismo 4 mod last summer and this track was made specifically for it. Being a fan of the old PlayStation racing games, I pretty much jumped at the opportunity.

i used the same samples The Avalanches used, and then went off on a wild tangent finding different samples, adding my own taste of insanity.

i haven’t done any mastering, other than a bit of compression and EQ on the master track.

All done in Ableton with nothing but samples and a sub bass....
