New AMS Series USB-C Audio Interfaces.

Zoom introduces the new AMS series USB-C audio interfaces: AMS-22, AMS-24 and AMS-44. The new AMS audio interfaces are designed specifically for those who record in a traditional DAW setup, but also want to stream their performances to platforms like YouTube and Twitch. A dedicated hardware switch makes it easy to switch between music and streaming modes. In streaming mode, all inputs are mixed together into one signal that can be used directly for streaming without additional software.

The additional Loopback switch combines the input signal with the playback signal from the computer and feeds it into the streaming software. The Direct Monitor switch sends the input signal to headphones, while the same signal is passed to the DAW or streaming software, allowing monitoring without latency.

The new AMS series offers 3 different models: the AMS-22 with 2-in/2-out, the AMS-24 with 2-in/4-out, and the AMS-44 with 4-in/4-out. All interfaces are compatible with PC, Mac, iOS and Android and can be powered from PC or Mac via USB-C. In addition, the AMS-24 and AMS-44 can also be powered by two AA batteries.

    AMS-22 | 2 inputs and 2 outputs
As a solution for mobile recording and streaming, the AMS-22 offers an XLR/TRS combo input and a stereo line input. There is also a headphone output and two TRS outputs for connecting external monitors.
    • 2 inputs/2 outputs
    • 24-bit/96kHz
    • 1 x XLR/TRS combo input (Hi-Z)
    • +48V phantom power
    • 1 x stereo 3.5mm jack input
    • 2 x TRS outputs
    • 1 x stereo headphone output (3.5 mm jack)
    • Loopback option switch
    • Direct monitor switch
    • Powered by USB-C bus
    • Support for PC, Mac, iOS and Android
    AMS-24 | 2 in and 4 out

The AMS-24 is a solution for solo streams as well as for multi-instrument sessions. It offers two XLR/TRS combo inputs with low-noise zoom preamps. There are also two headphone outputs and two TRS outputs for connecting external monitors.
    • 2 inputs/4 outputs
    • 24-bit/96kHz
    • 2 x XLR/TRS combo inputs (Input 1: Hi-Z)
    • +48V phantom power
    • 2 x TRS outputs
    • 2 x stereo headphone output (3.5 mm jack)
    • Music/Streaming Switch
    • Dedicated streaming mode
    • Dedicated music mode (DAW operation)
    • Loopback option switch
    • Direct Monitor switch
    • Powered by USB-C bus
    • AMS-24 can be battery powered
    • Support for PC, Mac, iOS and Android
    AMS-44 | 4 inputs and 4 outputs
The interface offers four XLR/TRS combo inputs with low-noise zoom preamps. In addition, there are two headphone outputs and two TRS jack outputs for connecting external monitors.
    • 4 inputs/4 outputs
    • 24-bit/96kHz
    • 4 x XLR/TRS combo inputs (Input 1: Hi-Z)
    • +48V phantom power
    • 2 x TRS outputs
    • 2 x stereo headphone output (3.5 mm jack)
    • Music/Streaming Switch
    • Dedicated streaming mode
    • Dedicated music mode (DAW operation)
    • Loopback option switch
    • Direct Monitor switch
    • Powered by USB-C bus
    • AMS-44 can be battery powered
    • Support for PC, Mac, iOS and Android

    Power supply
All three AMS interfaces can be powered via USB-C when connected to a PC or Mac. An external power supply is required for use with tablets or smartphones. The AMS-24 and AMS-44 can alternatively be powered by two AA batteries.

    Price and availability
At the time of writing, no price had been announced by the manufacturer. The interfaces should be available from Q3 2022.
