So for a while I was considering buying Rolands Zenology. I saw the patched version (CE-V.R v2.0.2) available on the main page and gave it a wirl pre-purchase.

An issue I'm experiencing is only when Zenology is loaded, roughly every 11-12 seconds I get a slight pause/lag in FLStudio.

I have narrowed it down to when too many presets are made available via expansions.
If I remove all but the original presets everything behaves normally.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed or experiencing same symptoms?

 

Uninstall it completely and try the previous R2R version (v2.0.1 or v2.0.0).

I tried both 2.0.0 and 2.0.1 by R2R and the problem persists.
Making the plug-in bridged and windowed works quite well even if a little inconvenient.

I'm seeing numerous reports of similar issues since the official 2.0 release last year yet Roland, although they have acknowledged this, have failed at any attempt fix the problem in a timely manner so I'm glad I didn't purchase this after all.

Not really keen on Roland products anyway so meh.

 

Roland is so desperate to sell product that they sponsored a 12 month interest free deal on their gear at Long & McQuade Music.
I got the TD-17 KV2 Series 2 Electronic Drum Kit with stand to sharpen my timing and percussion skills to go with my keyboard and guitar work.
Their product is always in stock.
Because it ain't selling.
Too expensive and not forward-looking enough.

 

Another thing I noticed is the pause when first loading an instance of Zenology or a project with Zenology in it. This instantiation can take about 15 to 30 seconds depending on the computer I tested it on.

After that initial loading, any new instances of Zenology opens very quickly.

Move the banks from AppData\Local\Roland Cloud\ZENOLOGY
to Common Files\VST3\Roland\ZENOLOGY\Patch

How do we get Zenology to scan the vst3 folder?

 

I don't know, I just moved the folders there and then after starting the vsti, .fzi
was created in the previous location. I'm using the VR version.
