I love White Sea Studios... He's an all around great guy, and funny to watch. Sure, sometimes he's on the more silly side of things, and his reviews are often lacking because he is not reading the manual and he's missing important functionality of the plugins. I view them more as first impression videos with a genuine reaction that I've come to appreciate. He's certainly not a scam YouTuber and is certainly worthy of support IMO.

YouTube is a great resource. Problem is, there's so much junk that the good stuff isn't easily found and is just buried in the mud. I love Dan Worrall's videos, for example, and there's plenty more.

 

He has a massive amount of subscribers tho.

 

he is the biggest audio tard on youtube. I admit as he started he was funny. But he became a total idiot.

He destroys great plugins like decapitator because it has aliasing at 44,1 kHz. Oh really !!!! Surprise !!! Aliasing at 44,1kHz

The already famous and deleted acoustica Veridian video. I am not a fan of acoustic audio plugins, because they are too demanding in my opinion. But they sound superb everyone with ears has to admit this.

The Brainworx bx_saturator plugin. He destroyed it because he had the master saturation on more than 75 % all the time.
"No subtitle useable saturation possible with it " snake oil - tard I got news for you, you operate the plugin wrong! (I think he deleted that video too)

This dude has the ears of a jellyfish. He Is not clever enough to figure out how a plugin works without a manual but is arrogant enough to destroy it. A clickwhore does everything for a click.

I think white sea guy is not that Bad. But I try to not click on his Videos anymore. Often hes kinda missleading and inaccurate. But sometimes i learn about a cool New plugin on his channel.

I hate those channels who praise a new best new shit plugin every week, mostly they are trap music related. Every week 'You need this plugin to make your beats FIRE' bla bla

I may agree that the snake oil guy is silly and I might suggest that others not support him...
but it seems ... uncomfortable ... to say "we should" or "we should not" anything in THIS place.
Opinions are so varied here I just can't imagine suggesting such a "we" thing about ANYTHING except what pertains to this forum.
But then again, maybe this was directed towards those in some secret group to which I was not invited....

Warren Huart's "Produce Like a Pro" Channel is really getting on my nerves lately. It has gone from really cool to yet another product placement/sponsored marketing hub for audio plugin manufacturers.

White Sea Studios caught a bad hitstorm for slamming Soundtoys Decapitator because he didn't know to operate it and thought it was snake oil. After that he took his plugin reviews more seriously and was less prejudice about them.

But then last week he did a tutorial on multiband compression – oh boy, I just hope no one follows this method of adjusting band parameters like ratio, attack and release in solo mode. On the other hand I liked the building of the glue compressor. So, yeah, I'm in a a love/hate relationship with this channel.

I think the most useful, no bs in depth plugin review/test YouTube channel is "Mixing with Mike" by Michael White. He adds so much more background info on the actual hardware plugins are based on as well as some tips and quirks certain plugins have, it's goldmine of free info, imho.
