First of all, I know this is somehow a stupid topic since there are no schemes to really follow and each work has to be done individually!
And yet, I bet there are some things you might end up trying out almost every single time and happen often to keep it for your mastering.

Please keep in mind that this question comes from a beginner with little work experience.

What I am essentially looking for is some input and ideas, which I might have never heard of before. For example did I really enjoy this video by Dan Worrall since it gave me a lot to think about:

The more specifique you get (which plugin, which setting) the better for me.
    Thanks for your time

    Hi karlsplatz,
One thing or rather one tool i try with every track i master is Steinbergs Magneto.
    It's a tape-saturation plugin.
I may not actually use it on every track, but it's a tool i know and trust.

I use it to get the tracks as loud as is common for that type/ genre of music.
Tape-saturation plugs are easy to use and mostly used to add some "analog " warmth to your tracks, and or to achieve a louder mix.
Lots of companies have great tape-sat. plugs.

You'll find lots of videos on how to use them on youtube. And discussion on this forum on what companies have the best ones.
Most people who produce and mix their own tracks do not master them.
Mastering is a very tricky thing. Letting someone else master your tracks is preferable.
