i've never done a project without using kontakt for something, so i guess that makes it my go-to vst. but it's not really a synth, it's a sampler.

i love the endless sonic possibilities of zebra, alchemy, and ultra analog va2. lately i have really gotten into the awesome sounding freebie - obxd. i have always been a fan of the oberheim sound, and this free vst captures that sound quite nicely.

based on what i've read in this thread, i guess i'm going to have to spend some time playing around with spire and lush-101. i tried them out a while ago and just didn't get inspired. maybe it was a bad day.

I don't think I have one 'go to' synth but I probably have a couple, and it's probably...

    1. NI B4II

    2. Arturia Jupiter 8V

There's others I use like Nexus and Omnisphere FM7 etc, but the above 2 are the ones I'd say that I always 'go to'

Vanguard (Refx) i love this synth,
Kontakt (didnt liked it at first, because freebies or cheap soundbank didnt worked as great as they should (laggy)
mostly because of script errors, so i delete scripts and use built-in script to do the same thing,
    lag has stopped ever since

I've not long purchased all 3 of these. They are the only soft synths I really use, but out of the 3 zebra2 is my favourite *yes*

    ABL2 for 303 sounds
    ARP2600V if I need wicked modular-ish sounds.
    Diva for Analog-ish Basses, Leads
    FM8 for complex, scientific/mathematical sounddesign
Lush-101 for that special and gorgeous, warm sound, nice and snappy envelopes :grooves:
Zebra for pretty much everything else. Modulates everything

I know my way around them. Thats the trick. Learn a few but know them by hard. :mates:

Some great recommendations! I totally forgot about some of these synths. I saw Oxium mentioned and I'll admit that your ears will be pleased with anything from Xils-lab. Very pure sound! Too bad they have some stability issues.
Spire, Aalto (Kaivo as well), and Circle are on my to-try list.

A quick update. I just spent few hours with Lush-101 and it's definitely another beast I will have to add to my go-to synth list.
