I've been cruising along now for a couple of years on Mountain Lion 10.8.5 very happily with all software and craics I need working perfect. But now, If I want to use the new Logic Pro 10.1, Apple is forcing my hand to upgrade OS. I'm on a Hackintosh and use the totally reliable Unibeast system to install. Trouble is a prerequisite of TonyMac's Unibeast is that you have to use the retail OSX Install.app from the Apple App Store. Ordinarily no problem coz I bought the Install Mountain Lion app a while back and am entitled to free downloads of future upgrades. The snag is that the Install Mavericks.app has been made unavailable by Apple which obliges me to upgrade all the way to Yosemite in one leap without any intermediate stages and people here are reporting issues with Yosemite. Wrappe[k] and Keygen Runner are working great for Keygen Exe's on Mountain Lion but maybe not on Yosemeite. I do have a Windows computer as well but copying across codes is a real time consuming hassle. I suppose the latest Crossover would manage but I have not used that yet. Some of the Wise Men here will recommend staying put but lets be a bit adventurous. What are the team's experiences so far with Yosemite??? :dunno:

The Yosemite Installer App can be downloaded for free from Apple. That can be used to make a bootable USB stick, if one must.

i have no issues on yosemite opening keygen.exe, easy way to open keygen.exe on mac is to use winonx or WineBottler,Yosemite is working fine on my hackintosh, also you can use carbon copy cloner to clone your hard drive then you can boot from the carbon copy cloner backup.

Glad to hear that Nightwalker. And just what I wanted to hear that WinonX is working on Yosemite. I'll check out WineBottler too. I've just acquired Crossover 14 which is Yosemite ready according to Codeweavers. By the way Nightwalker your avatar bears a very close resemblance to old Derren Nesbitt. And Stevitch: of course one must...of course one must!

lol my avatar is from a mexican comedian actor, that died sometime ago his name was Mauricio Garces https://www.google.com/search?q=mauricio+garces&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=uFbFVMevEIaUNoKMg7AN&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1400&bih=768#imgdii=_ anyway to me is more easy to use WinX or WineBottler than Crossover.

If as you say "I've been cruising along now for a couple of years on Mountain Lion 10.8.5 very happily with all software and craics I need working perfect." why bother updating to Mavericks/Yosemite and Logic Pro 10.1? I don't understand and thats why I ask.

I am running an older version of OSX and an older version of Logic and everything runs perfect for my needs and requirements.

I guess I just don't understand why upgrade if everything you have is running smoothly.

I understand if Logic Pro 10.1 has some new features that you require for your needs - then I totally get it.

To update the OS + Logic for the sake of "being current" is a lot of work and you may (not saying you will) run into other unforeseen problems that may require a lot more work just to get all your music apps + plugins running.

Also have you verified that all your "other" music apps + plugins etc. are Yosemite ready? From my experience music app + plugin vendors are usually not ready to go once Apple has released a new OS version.

Just some thoughts of mine - not trying to start any hassles or anything.

Good luck with what route you choose to go!

Note: Its always ticked me off that Apple requires people to upgrade the OS just to run a new version of one of their apps like Logic 10.1 for example.

I use wineskin for keygens these yosemite days. Much easier then wrappek and similair to keygenrunner. Wish I found out earlier about wineskin.
Not sure what you mean with the yosemite.app installation. Just download and make a bootable usb or bootable external disk. Lots have instructions on this on the net.
Just make sure all external hardware you use has support.
