Is there someone who has Yamaha AN200/AN1X/PLG150-AN?
How You compare it to VSTs like Diva?
Is a sense of spent money for AN200 if we have VSTs like Diva, JP6K, DS Thorn, Synth1, Sylenth1 v3?
You can make something on it that You can't on VSTs?
Is there something that makes it very special or has some standout element much better than VSTs?

Depends on what youre looking for.

I had my Motif-ES rack expanded with both the AN and DX boards. They sound great and you can do quite a lot with them but comparing them to analog modeling vsts like ones you listed is night and day. The instant gratification of using an AN200 is fun, but it does take some time to learn to navigate through and program. It will never be as immediate as cycling through a bunch of presets on a vst, nor will it have the flexibility of a vst. But for some people, thats the charm in using something like an AN200. If you can live with its limitations, its a great little table top synth.

Sound design for Trance. Supersaw pads. Arp plucks. Hardstyle kicks. Hard sync sounds. Squeky arp distorted basslines etc.

Any of those vsts listed can handle what you're looking for and then some. Personally, Id choose something Hive or Viper. Viper in particular is exceptional for bread and butter trance sounds. I own a VirusTI and Viper, and I can say with all honestly in a blind comparison you would be hard pressed to tell which is which. Its that close.

Sometimes you gotta go with the classics.

    Interesting comment on KVRAudio:
Anyone know if that's true? Is there a new Vanguard in the works?

Same with Roland JP-8080 and u-he Diva. In comparision sounds almost the same.
I am curious if with Yamaha AN200 is something similar.

Thanks,I didn't know which synth is emulated in Diva's digital oscillators.

I'm interested in a used Yamaha AN1X,it's old digital but I like this sound, same for the Roland JP8000 and SH201.I suppose It has a different sound engine than the Yamaha AN2000?

I have AN200, AN1X and JP-8080. Yes, Diva is often compared to JP-8080, but it is not fair - they tried to make like one oscillator, but the JP sound is about the filter, sequencer, arp, layering, workflow, Roland effects. No, it's not the same.

AN200? I tried to look, did not find anything, so I just sample AN200 and use in my projects. The only thing that could come close is something from Korg Collection VSTs.

I was long time VST only guy, but the emulations sucks. On PC I use Arturia Pigments, UVI Falcon2, VPS Avenger and similar. You need to use the best from both worlds.

For your current issue I would go the sample way, Nexus 3 even, rather than try to look for a holy grail (yes I have JP6K as well and I bought JP-8080 anyway later).

Viper from Adam Szabo might be good, you could try that as well.

Or I would just go with Z3TA+ for AN200 sound.

Yamaha AN200 is almost the same as AN1X.
    Only few small differences.
Yamaha AN1X have 10 voices polyphony.
Yamaha AN200 have 5 voices polyphony.
    Yamaha AN200 Have Multisaw.
    Yamaha AN1X Doesn't have Multisaw.
Yamaha AN200 have additional drum samples (Groovebox)
You can access to all parameters directly from the synthesizer in Yamaha AN1X.
You must use software to access all parameters in Yamaha AN200.

Well, have you ever tried Spire with it's heaps of presets? I think it's excellent for trance. I've never tried AN200, nor AN1X, but I can see their appeal - simplicity in use etc. like cyberluke said. I use Yamaha A5000 or A3000 sampler when I want to have some hardware fun, and they sound more "compact" and easier to mix with. AWM2 synthesis + sampling is a very good combo. I think they used AN1X filter in these samplers.

Anyway, give Spire a try. Oscillators can sound incredibly full. Supersaw, Hypersaw, Chainsaw massacre. It's really good for sawing.
