Thx to the witches the last version of Addictive Drums is available to test...

Since I already use AD2 (the previous version) in almost all my recordings, I wonder if it is worth upgrading this software.

Are there essential points where a real improvement is noticeable?

If there are no real benefits with the latest version, I think it would be better to stick with the previous version...

    What do you think?

I think you should update because some errors have been corrected. Of course, sometimes there are updates that make things worse. Whether the new functions are useful to you is something you have to decide for yourself as an individual. I have listed the updates for the sake of a better overview:

This update features workflow improvements and several new features:

    • A brand new look: Addictive Drums 2 now has a new sleek design. It's the Addictive Drums 2 you know and love, but more visually appealing. The new look helps keep you focused on what's really important: your music.
    • New "Trig Gate" effect: The new Trig Gate lets you mangle your drum sound and still get perfect gate action on every drum hit. No need to dial in threshold settings - the gate is perfectly triggered by the internal MIDI drum notes.
    • New compressor "Boost" mode: Make your drums hit harder with the click of a button. The new "Boost" mode adds a new level of thump and attack to your beats, fueled by an XLN-approved multiband compression tailored for drums.
    • Even better EQ: The EQ now has clear real-time visual feedback of the signal across all frequencies. All settings are clearly visible for easier and more precise adjustments.
The v2.5 update is fully backwards compatible. All material created in previous versions will work and sound as intended: presets, tweaks, mix settings, MIDI beats and other settings. The update works with all Addictive Drums 2 expansions (ADpaks, MIDIpaks and Kitpiece paks).

What's new in Addictive Drums 2 (version 2.5.0)

    Addictive Drums 2 v2.5.1 - Oct 28, 2024

I've not bothered. I'll think about it when/if they make some new adpak's. For now I don't really need anything in the update.

Well, VST3 failed to register in Studio One , but I use Reaper, no problem there, and I didnt care to look back on S1 for the moment.(some message appeared and disappeared inmediately), but then VST3 worked OK (I am not installing VST2s anymore), I did a project , no problem, somehow the new GUI and the distribution of the workspace made me work faster. mainly the area for the beats, and the editing is easier to manage in my opinion.
