Just installed the main program from AiR, updated to 1.5.2, again from AiR, didn't use the keygen from the original because it didn't show up in Live, thought the updates, that don't seem to need keygens would solve the problem, but the VST does not show up in Live, tried a couple of installs, nothing.

Anyone running this in live successfully?

Any suggestions? would love to give this a try, no success yet.

same here... wanted to check " XLN.Audio.Addictive.Drums.ADpak.Reel.Machines.Addon-AiR ", but quickly found out that xln drummer is not showing in reaper x64 (w7x64) also anymore... never was a problem on xp x86.... anyone?

 

I used to have problem with this but in cubase it turned out to be that in some system the Air installer does not extract the files to the correct dir even if you have pointed out that direction or simply just using the default one.

I.e clicked next all the time.

So you have to manually extract the rar files in the Air 1.5.2 update to the folder c:\program files\XLN Audio

Or wherever you have your content installed in the first place

I have my XLN Ad drums installed on another harddrive called F.

I also have my VST on another drive called G

So i point the installer when it asked where i want to install my content to F:

And my vst to my vst folder on G: and to a subfolder called drums (i have superior drummer and bfd2 there aswell)

If i remember correctly heres how i did it

I first installed version 1.1 dynamics version

Then i extract the rarfile Air 1.5.2 update manually to a folder you that you can call whatever you like.

Or simply just use winrar as it make an folder automatically

(B.t.w i believe you can use Air Ad drums 1.0 too)

In that extracted folder you see some folders called.

"sound data, factory presets, factory maps, licenses."

And files called resources Gui Data AD ico.

And of course the update installer exe file


Now look for the folder where you installed v 1.1 (or 1.0) and overwrite those folders and files that are in the Air update folder you just extracted.


Now use the installer in the update folder to overwrite the vsti dll file in the vst folder now it should work.

It could also be that you have to use the installer first then overwrite the content.

I have this solution on a textfile somewhere i shall look for it and come back if youll not succeed with this method.

I could have forgot something importent.

It is however a thread about this solution on that other forum we not suppose to mention in here it starts with Vst and ends with *lub

Yeah that seems to work, copied the folders over, replaced where necessary, works in live now, cheers guys.

 

Hey Guitarmaniac64! Could you help me? Could you give me the EXACT steps you used to
get the ad update working? AD 1.0 is working fine but i need the update. Everytime I try to update,
it doesnt show up in Cubase(the plugin dissapears).I tried your steps but it didnt work in my Cubase 5.

Ok it may be too much to understand if your a newbie but dont give up it works...

First of all copy all your content of v 1.0 to a place on your HD or desktop or whatever..
("sound data, factory presets, factory maps, licenses."
And files called resources Gui Data AD ico.)
You can also save the user folder you find in the document and settings


Then delete the original dll file from your vst folder..

Then install the update v 1.5.2 and then overwrite the content from the original content you saved from v 1.0
then you can install all other expansions i think it was the way i did it

Or the other way around?
You may wanna go for this one as it is the way i found it explained on another forum

A.k.a install update and then all expansions and at last overwrite the original content..

But the most IMPORTENT thing os NOT TO USE THE EXE FILE at first and you have to copy the files you find when you extract the rar file of the update to v 1.5.2
Those folders you see named sound data etc as THOSE FILES dont work with the exe files for some reason..so you have to MANUALLY put them in the installer folder usually C:\Program Files\XLN Audio etc etc..

Then overwrite the original content you saved from version 1 now it should work..

And hey you might wanna clean the register from everything that say addicted drums if you do not succeed at first..

This also work with dynamic AD v 1.1.1 version which also have the retro pak

 

I'm experience mysterious problems with Addictive Drums... I use drums on my XP machine earlier without any problems. Now, after three years of using Windows 7 64 I decide to install AD again, but it's impossible...

I install version Air, it work correclty but is so slow so it's impossible to use it.

Over that installed files I update with latest update by r2r, library and vst/rtas but situation is the same, it work but is so slow... I remember when I use AD on XP on slower machine that work great.

 

maybe you should uninstall all, then install R2R release. for me it works fine.
