XILS-lab has released version 2.0 of their Analog Modular Synthesizer XILS 3 LE for 32-bit and 64-bit Mac OS X and Windows in VST2.4, AU, RTAS and AAX formats.
The price is 34€ but it's available now for as low as 4€ (Choose What You Pay) until November 1st, 2014 on the XILS-lab store.

Capable of producing both a very wide range of classic analog sounds, and sounds that no other analog synth can do,
XILS3 LE V2.0 combines an authentic emulation of the Synthi (VCS 3) modular synthesizer and a replica of the 256 Analog Sequencer, its natural companion.
In XILS 3 LE V2.0, you can connect everything with everything, and you get more than 440 possible different connections per patch.

This is a tremendous synth. Completely kind of unstable, and not in your normal paradigm... I got it i think 4 years ago when it first came out... it's not going to be your bread and butter synth, but if you are looking for something different, this is it! Anyone ever use a real Putney? My lord, was that a crazy unstable mess.... I had no idea what I was doing at first, at all, and that was kind of the magic of it. But this captures that element for sure, but a lot more stable, and you can recall patches! :)... For a couple bucks, a no brainer if you don't have it, and other XILs stuff is really interesting as well... I always reach for them when looking for something different again... the polykobol etc...

...and I don't know it's so much 80's as like 1969 +..... Brian Eno could coax a lot out this bad boy...
