Sheesh. 500 Euros is steep for what it is
Must me location dependent. Mine says free shipping. I'm really considering this. And that's bad cuz I really don't need it

Edit: so, uh... I caved and bought one.

    Hahaha what the hell?!

This must be some kind intentional deterrent. Maybe they don't want to sell it for this price, but they feel compelled to match GC... so they jack up international shipping to avoid exacerbating their losses?

I don't know. That's insane though. Like how could they allow this unless it were intentional?

Well, it is international, seems about right for a heavy item to me.

Ill pick mine up at the store a few miles away.

I can understand why it's that low.
It seems geared more towards house/EDM and really doesn't have a dedicated software like the Ren or Maschine. Not saying that's a bad thing but people want that blend of software and hardware control to create and arrange and this seems like it's more towards the "controller" side. It's not a bad deal though and it's time for me to upgrade to something new but i'm waiting for the new MPC.

    Peace

Major Flaw... if u change the Daw preset and save\overwrite it.. there IS not a reset function.

This is exactly what I did... can't control Live now with it..

    Taking back to store.

@One Reason what do you mean by change the DAW preset? Like the default tracks/devices? Default set template? The Trigger Finger's in-built preset for Ableton?

I haven't gotten mine yet but... if you can save presets, can you not just open the Live preset and save a couple backup copies just in case?

If so... I'll be happy to learn from your mistakes

    Nope..

U cant 'add' live back in...

Anyway... i decided to just get a new unit > Swap..

ATTENTION: Drivers are NOT included in the initial software download..as u would assume

To get it working right, search M-Audio Driver download area for 1.0.8 driver download.

and.. do NOT save over the DAW presets. There IS no System reset or firmware update.

Theres some complaints about sync issues, havent tackled that yet, but after finding the proper driver... its working as it should.

Really sturdy unit, loveee the pads.

    I shall persevere!

Hope my troubles will be of assistance to y'all.

Edit: After playing with the TFP all night, I get your point

Update - I'll erase my rambling and put something useful here for anyone considering the TFP or for future readers who are interested in it. This thing is loads of fun. I wasn't sure what it would add that I didn't get with Push besides better third party plugin integration and some fun ways of toggling effects that are more complicated to do on Push. Its bundled software (Arsenal) really makes the thing shine. Arsenal scans your third party plugins and somehow reads all their presets and makes them available from within its interface. I haven't tried it with Massive yet, but I suspect that means my slow-ass-browser woes with my favorite synth may be over. The TFP comes with some really decent sound libraries which are tagable and seamlessly navigable from Arsenal. Furthermore, third party plugin presets are tagable and can be browsed and loaded within arsenal. I haven't done enough testing yet to say for sure, but if this works how it's supposed to it could very well replace dozens of hours of library management over the course of months if you (like me) save synth presets as instrument racks so that you can browse by type without being limited to one synth at a time. That alone is worth $150.

I now understand the DAW sync problem with the TFP. The sequencer doesn't play real well with Live. That's okay for me because Push's sequencer is really worlds better anyway. But if a sequencer is a big selling point for you, maybe look elsewhere.

Addendum: AiR's business model is a JOKE. When I registered my product they sent me a complimentary support code which i may use within sixty days of registering my products. Buying the products isn't good enough - they charge you for support, and your one free support voucher expires. Not to worry, they assured me that their forums and knowledge base has plenty of free help for users experiencing technical difficulties. No wonder a developer of such good plugins is so overshadowed by its competition.
