Winrar extract problem

    Hi. I have tried to extract winrar files and I have got the error: “The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." This a tutorial from sister site. The file is split into 19 parts and the error occurs at the part 2. I have tried to extract into the root partition but no success. I have tried to shorten the names of included folders to shorten the path but I am not able to do it, the change name option is greyed out. Any workaround? Thanks

    What's the name of the tutorial? (Be careful dont copy paste directly from sister site, or you could paste the link too)

    Probably the file path/name is too long.
    Try to extract it directly to your drive - like to C:\Tutorial or D:\Tutorial.
    Other than that, try using 7Zip instead of WinRAR.

    @r4e Yes. I have said it I have tried “the root partition”. I have moved my temp folder to the root partition as well. No success. But good point about 7zip. I haven’t tried this in spite of being so obvious.
    I have enabled long names in the system. It is Win 10 by the way.
    Some people also get errors as they describe in comments of this release.

    I'm testing for you ....

    I used uploaded.net links from op, and it worked perfectly.. uncompressed automatically by JDownloader into several subfolder.

    route for files was N:\Dow\! Effects\30981\Production.Music.Live.Instant.Inspiration.TUTORIAL

    Have you updated winrar? Pmed you.

    Thank you guys and Oymoon for PM. I don't have JDownloader. I use the same release of Winrar 6. I extracted it with 7zip. There were no problems indicated. I have got 12.9 GB (13,890,342,722 bytes) folder with 149 files and 78 folders.

    Looks like guys you are happy about using jdownloader. I have been an old-time bitcomet user. And I started using IDM for downloading videos recently.

    There several things I like with Jdownloader.
    You can memorize passwords it will look for the right one if files are encrypted
    You can use multiple accounts on the same file, Jdownloader will manage the download from different servers ant the same time
    You can easily rename files and set where to download
    It uncompresses files automatically unless you state the opposite
    You can filter what to download from a link, ie: downloading a playlist from YouTube but you don't want the video, text files etc...
