Why does windows security not remember that i "allowed on device" a keygen.
when i go into folder looking something it pops up "threat found" and its something i already allowed.

Cuz Windows is stupid. You either disable defender or the real-time protection for good, or you install a third party AV and work from there. My personal solution is to store all my keygens in the cloud and whenever I need them I disable defender, use them, delete them, and enable defender back. Kinda annoying but takes me 2 seconds.

I always compress the keygens again with WinRAR so that they aren't deleted during a disk scan.
WinRAR files aren't scanned on the local hard drive.

A good alternative to Windows Defender is the free Bitdefender Antivirus Free.

Windows Security --> Virus & Threat Protection Settings --> Manage settings --> Exclusions --> Add or remove exclusions --> Add the entire folder as an exclusion

Defender has a history of flagging keygens inside RAR/ZIP files on my machine. I wouldn't trust it. This crap is highly unpredictable, just this week it spotted a keygen in my trash bin a full week after I'd already deleted it lol

Thanks @Djord Emer! I've configured my recycle bin to delete data immediately upon request, for all hard drives including USB sticks and external storage devices. So nothing is stored there.

I completely uninstalled Defender about two years ago and surfed the web without any antivirus software for a year without any problems. Recently, though, I caught a Trojan, so I installed Bitdefender Free.

I remember that when you tried to send a WinRAR file via Google Email, it would refuse, and you had to upload the file to a file server like ZippyShare and then send the link.

With Windows 11's stricter security rules, Windows responded to many companies and private users who, for example, complained to Microsoft about the billions of dollars in economic damage caused by ransomware.
