    follow these steps exactly.

    Install Kontakt 5.0.2
    Install Kontakt 5.0.3 Update
    Install Kontakt 5.1.0

Do not uninstall any of the above or you will continue to get that error. Of course you need the proper releases in the first place. I'm not sure if the 5.0.2 matters since it's just there to install the baseic stuff and 5.0.3 is just an update with the patch work. Anyway, follow that order and don't uninstall any of them after you start with 5.0.3 and it'll work.

it is an unsolve thing until you reinstall the lib. Some old libs need some files that only can be obtaind with a lot of search in your old system or a reinstall (possibel k2libxxx conflicts can be resolved by that). It good to nkow your problematic libs.
This is typical from a kontakt 3 and below libs, for our luckm the news have only to be added..

did you patch 5.0.3? previous to installing 5.1.0?

Also did you make sure service center was uninstalled?

Needless to say my method also wont work if you didn't uninstall all kontakt stuff first including the service center. Then you need the 5.0.3 update I think assign did and patch it. If done correctly the library your showing will work, and I've gotten it to on many machines. The fact that you say it won't load in 5.0.3 probably means you have the wrong 5.0.3 which is screwing up the update to 5.1.0.

So Yeah most likely you have an unpatched or screwed up kontakt 5.0.3

First of all, ignore everything everybody said in this thread and do this:

    1) Try to add the library, and you get that same message. Close Kontakt and your DAW.

    2) Restart your DAW, and Kontakt. Try to add the library the second time. Now you'll be able to add it, but it still won't work. You won't be able to load instruments. Remove the library from the list now. ["gear" button>remove library] Close Kontakt and your DAW.

    3) Restart your DAW, and Kontakt. Add the library again. Now it should all work perfectly.

    Cheers!

Run kontakt standalone app as admin, add the library.
Then run your DAW as admin, all works fine.
I had got the error, It's totally registry error.
Someone posted "library tools" on AudioZ, maybe it can help you.

If your kontakt engine is inlegal, unstall the kontakt(do not remove the librarys), use some registry cleaning soft or do it manually. Then re-install cracked kontakt.

dont know it worked for me without installing that way. really strange.
but maybe its different with win8. (since M$ has changed the registry a bit in some points as someones said.)

Oh yeah, also what m9cao said, you should try running the DAW as an administrator while doing it, just to be on the safe side. ;)

I cannot know that since I'm using XP, and there are no problems running anything since I work with an admin account all the time.

I found a working fix to get all libraries working in KONTAKT 8 (Bob_Dule version).
If you create a folder and cut and paste all the .json files from path: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Native Instruments\installed_products to a new folder…
THEN use the “Kontakt_Button.exe” button in the KONTAKT 8 folder to point to your downloaded KONTAKT libraries, it should register the paths. Once this is done, you should now have new *.json files in the above path (Native Instruments\installed_products).
Re-open KONTAKT 8 and your missing libraries SHOULD be there.
Let me know if this was helpful.
    This worked 100% for me.
