I have two old Win 7 PCs, I remember Bill Gates claiming they would be destroyed by Russian viruses the second Microsoft ended "security" support for them. Maybe if I'm really bored I'll upgrade my laptop to Win 11, but I don't really have time to deal with Microsoft's problems.

 

You absolutely shouldn't and I'm not saying everyone should upgrade to Win 11. I had no problems with Win 10 either. Stable system is the most important thing whatever the OS is.

No. I had experienced several DAWs didn't work on Win 11, but after reinstall Win 10, They work flawlessly.

So I suggest you return to Win 10, if it's possible.

it isnt only daws that have issues with w11 but work perfectly in 10, its too many plugins to list... and if you use cracked plugins on win11 connected to the net youre just asking for more problems, and it delivers in spades.

 

because I like things clean, with clean boot there's no leftover mess from previous day

I downgraded from 11 to 10.

It was a fresh install with barely on the system. Every single time I either shutdown, or restarted my PC I got a memory writing error, and every new driver for months wouldn't work with my RTX 4080. Since downgrading everything works perfectly.

You can agree, or disagree, but this has been my experience just last month.

 

last time I did an OS upgrade it was from XP 32 bit to WIN10 64 (after 1 year release)

I've downgraded from win 11 to 10 about 4 months ago.
Everything works better, just everything.
In first place because the tools you need to tweek the system are still there, like the gpedit (I know you can install on w11)
When I install windows, I spend like a day disabling permanently all the trash. I dont like to install light versions from internet.
and the most important, the machine I produce music never, never, never even know what internet is.

 

W10Privacy did a great job on Windows 11!

 

Hmm. I was just joking to point out personal experience doesn't always correspond to general facts.

Actually I think that man who wrote this post would have expirienced similar fast boot speed, if he re-installed Win10 after formatting the drive.
