Was just thinking about it the other day.Audiosex is so much more than an audio forum,its like a pirate tavern,mostly friendly,with an occasional fight.

I see that Haiku is based on Linux. I am a Producer first not a Terminal Wizard, so using Linux for music Production is out of the question. Because as soon as a Driver for a component of my PC is missing on a Linux system I am pretty much fucked. And that's the main reason, Windows and OSX are so widely spread.

But the main reason I won't switch to Linus for Production: No killer DAW on Linux. Here's a List of DAWs for Linux: http://wiki.linuxaudio.org/apps/daw_apps and none of them seem to come close to what you can do with Logic, Cubase, Ableton Live or Reaper (but it seems somebody was able to port Reaper to Linux, though)

 

for musicproduction, and not gamers:
if you are on Win 7 , dont go 8 or win 10. Case closed.
The new Versions after WIN 7 are NOT better or faster.
"Innovation" was: bugfixing, "fancy new tabletdesign" and adding "marketing tools".
my Qualification: 30+ years of working with computers and a businessowner.

I tried to make a 'Hello World' for the Windows 10 Universal App platform.
This warning appears a little late- after installing tons of Win 10 development components.
